Title: Things to Remember When You Win Main Text: Joshua 8:24-35
1. Remember to pray without ceasing when you are victorious and prosperous.
Joshua 8:26 When people achieve what they think, they stop or neglect all their religious life. But the wise and faithful person prays more earnestly. Because it is more difficult to keep than to achieve. Now, the people of Israel are winning a great victory in the conquest of Ai. But Joshua said that he took the javelin and did not withhold his raised hand. In the wilderness, when Moses went up to the mountain to pray with his hands raised in the battle against Amalek, if the hand of prayer did not come down, Israel prevailed, and if the hand came down, Amalek prevailed, so Moses continued to raise his hand without lifting it. Likewise, Joshua continues to hold the javelin, which is signed by God, without taking it back. This means that the hands of prayer were held up, not lowered. Believers should not withdraw their hands of prayer. The moment the hands of prayer are lowered, the devil raises them. The moment the hands of prayer are lowered, the black shadow of failure approaches.
2. When you are victorious and prosperous, don't forget to offer burnt offerings and peace offerings.
3. When you win and prosper, remember that God is the center of everything in your life.
Joshua 8:33-34 Joshua built an altar and wrote the law of God on the stone on which the altar was built. It is not to forget the word of God. A believer must never forget the Word of God even when prospering, in victory, in hardships, and in trials. We must engrave the Word in our hearts and live it as we would a stone. Deuteronomy 6:6 Then the people were divided in two, one standing in front of Mount Gerizim and the other in front of Mount Ebal. And he proclaimed the blessings and curses recorded in the Book of the Law. What does this mean? It is saying that blessings and curses in human life are in the hands of God. And all of this is being moved around God. I need to know that the center of my life is not me, but God is the center. We must know that the center of our family is not me, but God. I need to know that God is the center of my business, not me. 1 Samuel 2:7
