Title: This is the thanksgiving of Jesus.
Content □ When did Jesus offer a prayer of thanks?
Our reading today is when and why Jesus? It also shows us how to live a life of gratitude. “At that time, Jesus answered and said, “Father, Lord of heaven and earth, I give thanks…” Jesus is now offering a prayer of thanksgiving. When did Jesus give thanks? Jesus thanked Heavenly Father “at that time.” So, when does “at that time” refer to here? The time mentioned here refers to the time when Jesus declared judgment against Korah, Bethsaida, and Capernaum, who performed the most powers and miracles. In verses 20 to 24, Jesus declares judgment on those who reject Jesus and do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah despite showing more power and miracles with more affection and concern than any other village. You did. How would the Lord feel when they did not acknowledge Himself as the Messiah and rejected Him even though it was the place where He performed the most miracles and paid the most attention? He must have been very complicated, depressed and distressed. No, I must have been very sad and very heartbroken.
But even in these circumstances, the Lord offered a prayer of thanks to Heavenly Father. In such a gloomy situation, in such a situation of rejection, he prayed a prayer of thanks to Heavenly Father. Like the lyrics of a gospel hymn, he prayed to God the Father in a situation of being abandoned and neglected like a trampled rose. This was the thanksgiving of Jesus. Even when Jesus felt frustrated, complicated, and depressed, he prayed to Heavenly Father to give thanks. This is true gratitude. Genuine gratitude is giving thanks even when what you hoped for did not come true. Thank you for giving me thanks even when my heart is stuffy and complicated. Thank you for giving even in the storms of life. Thank you for giving in spite of the pain and suffering of disease.
□ To whom did Jesus give thanks?
“Father, Lord of heaven and earth” Jesus said a prayer of thanks to the Father, Lord of heaven and earth. The object of thanks was God the Father. The phrase “He is the Lord of heaven and earth” means that He is the creator and ruler of heaven and earth. That's right. Our God not only created the heavens and the earth, but He is also in control of the heavens and the earth. He is the only one in charge of all order and operation in this world. He is the one who advocates for human life and death. He is the source of all wealth and power in this world. (1 Chronicles 29:12) By the way, do you know that God, who is such a great and source of blessings, and the Lord of heaven and earth, are you and your Father? According to the Bible, no one could call God, the Lord of heaven and earth, Father. Only the Son of God, Jesus Christ, could call God Father. But God has given the right to become children of God to those who believe in His Son, Jesus Christ. Not only legally, but also by pouring out the spirit of adoption, so that God can be called Father, Father. (Romans 8:14-15)
It is me and your father who are the masters of heaven and earth and who claim human life and death. How heartbreaking is this? Even if my father becomes the president of a company, even if he is only in a high-ranking office, his shoulders are strained. How proud and proud is that Almighty God is becoming my father and father?
Thank God for being my father and being my father. And be thankful that I can go before my Heavenly Father and get the parts I need. Heavenly Father is the one who answers our requests with the best things (Matthew 7:11).
Dear saints,
Even in difficult times, Jesus offered a prayer of thanks to Heavenly Father, the Lord of heaven and earth. Our Jesus was clearly the object of thanksgiving. That's right. Only our God is worthy of worship and worthy of our thanks.
□ What was Jesus grateful for?
Then, for what reason did Jesus give thanks to Heavenly Father? What did Jesus give thanks to the Father? “I give thanks for hiding these things from the wise and prudent, but revealing them to little children” (verse 25). It speaks of the blessing of salvation soon. And the wise and prudent people refer to those who saw the miracles and powers of Jesus and did not accept him based on their traditions, reason, and learning. And little children are those who know that they are sinners and acknowledge and accept Jesus as the Messiah. Therefore, the little children Jesus spoke of are the opposite of the wise and discreet people mentioned earlier. The children Jesus spoke of are those who thoroughly acknowledge their weaknesses, admit their sinfulness, realize that they cannot be saved by their own strength, and believe in Jesus as their Savior.
But in verse 26, Jesus says that this is the Father's will that the gospel of the kingdom is hidden from the wise and prudent and revealed to little children. What is Heavenly Father's will? Heavenly Father's will is not for the wise and prudent people to hear the gospel and become the people of the kingdom of heaven, but for those who are like children to hear the gospel of the kingdom and become the saved people. This is the will of our Heavenly Father. Then, today, it is Heavenly Father's will that you and I believe in and accept Jesus as our Savior and live as the people of the kingdom of heaven. Heavenly Father's holy will is now done in me and you. Therefore, we should live in gratitude for the fact that God's holy will has been done in us today. Even if life is difficult and difficult, I must live with gratitude for the fact that I believed in Jesus and became a child of God.
□ Try to be grateful
Gratitude is a great driving force that drives out the devil, removes the darkness of our lives, and illuminates the sunlight. Gratitude is the channel that brings God into our lives. Gratitude turns a life of defeat into a life of victory. So, try to be grateful. Why am I like this? Do not blame fate and complain, but try to be grateful even in difficult circumstances and situations. Even if the environment is difficult and the pain of human relationships continues, give thanks to God for being my father. Give thanks for being saved. Darkness fades when we begin to be grateful. Thoughts determine gratitude and complaints. If you think and think about any difficult situation, you can discover the conditions of gratitude that you have no choice but to be grateful for. A person who lives with gratitude for today is a happy person. try auditing. Gratitude creates more conditions for being grateful
