Title: Those who are united with Jesus
Content Title: Those who are united with Jesus
Bible: John 6:52-58
Verse 52 says, "Therefore the Jews quarreled with one another, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" Why are the Jews arguing now? Because Jesus said that he was the bread that came down from heaven, and that the bread is his flesh for the life of the world. These words are symbolic. It means being united with His death to become one. Let's look at what the text says to those who are united with Jesus.
First: True Food and Drink
“He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise it up on the last day; my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink” (verses 54, 55). can you be So, hearing this, the Jews began to leave Jesus one by one. They are still people who do not fully understand their true nature. He is the 'bread from heaven'. By his death, we live again. When Jesus said to the Jews, 'He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life', he believes and accepts his death.
Second: Abiding in Jesus
“He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him” (verse 56). It means being united as one. It does not mean that we have become one physically, but that we have become one on a new level. Being united with Jesus doesn't suddenly make you a man of strange superhuman powers, but at least being transferred from death to life, can you put on a dark expression? Can I be depressed when he is in me and I am in him
Third: You will live because of me.
“As the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me” (verse 57). If Jesus abides among us and we abide in Jesus, we are not forced to live our lives. Because his purpose is our life. If there is only one reason to live on this earth, it is Jesus Christ. The one who rules my life, the one who sustains me by being my everything, he is the purpose of my life and the reason you live.
Fourth: live forever.
“This is the bread that came down from heaven; it is not as if the fathers ate and died; whoever eats this bread will live forever” (verse 58). What they ate was actually the bread that came down from heaven. However, they could have prolonged their lives by eating the bread, but in the end they all died. Eating does not give us life. But whoever drinks the flesh and blood of Jesus will live forever. To live forever does not mean that the body does not die. It means to live with him forever.
