Bible: Matthew 19:13-15
Today is Children's Day. What do we think of children? In modern times, there is a sense that young children have become idols rather than masters. It has become a world where children unconditionally do whatever they want. But even in this generation, haven't we been ignoring children only in our religious life? Verse 13 of today's text says, "At that time people brought children with him hoping that he would put his hands on him and pray, and the disciples rebuked him." The background of today's text is that when Jesus left Galilee and crossed the Jordan to the border of Judea, a great crowd followed them, and the Pharisees were answering questions about divorce and singleness, leaving their wives. People took their children to Jesus. it will come Focusing on today's text, I would like to share the grace of thinking with the title "Those who brought children".
First of all, why did you bring the children out?
The people in the text said that they brought their children, so let's take a look at why they brought them. Verse 13 says, “At that time people brought children with him hoping that he would put his hands on him and pray, and the disciples rebuked him.” People brought children with them 1) to meet Jesus.
Second, how did you bring the children with you?
The people in the text did not bring their children without any difficulty. It can be seen from the text that there were several difficulties.
1) I came out after overcoming various troubles.
However, in the text, people knew that blessings were precious even in the midst of such difficulties, so they came out with all their troubles and hardships in order to receive blessings from them.
2) It was brought out while being persecuted by the disciples. The more valuable the treasure, the more you will be able to endure it no matter how difficult it is to take it. (verse 13)
What happened to the third children?
1) Jesus accepted it. Verse 14, "Jesus said, "Let little children and do not forbid them to come to me, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such.
2) The Lord taught that the kingdom of heaven belongs to such people. The text says, "The kingdom of heaven belongs to such people." Only when we become one spirit, we will be able to possess the kingdom of heaven by recovering a pure and pure heart like children.
3) He ordained them. (15) For the souls of children, they must meet the Lord. They must hear the words of Jesus for their faith. Now, let's all become us who can pass on faith as a legacy, not just as parents, but by bringing really young children to Jesus so that they can receive spiritual and physical blessings.
