Title: Those Who Have Much Forgiveness
Those whose contents have been forgiven
It is not easy to borrow money from others, either in the past or now. If someone had to borrow money, they would have no choice but to borrow money from others if they were frustrated. At this time, if any savior could appear and repay the money borrowed from others, he would never forget that grace for the rest of his life. This wish is something that anyone who has ever borrowed money from someone else has experienced it at least once or twice.
The Pharisee in the text asked Jesus to go to his house and share a meal with him. When Jesus heard the Pharisee's words and did not refuse his request, he entered his house and sat down, saying, "A woman who was treated as a sinner in that town brought an alabaster jar filled with perfumed oil and cried at Jesus' feet. He wet his hair, washed it with his hair, kissed Jesus' feet, and anointed him with perfume, and the Pharisee who had invited Jesus looked at it, and he had a heart for him, saying, "If this man was a prophet, who is this woman touching him He would soon have known what kind of sinner he was” (38-39).
If anyone among the Pharisees at that time was polite enough to ask Jesus to go to his house and have a meal, then Baser is truly a breakthrough in the background of the times. It must be hard to think at the time that a Pharisee, who was proud of himself as a righteous man, invited Jesus to his house and prepared a meal. However, the Pharisee saw that a woman who was believed to be a sinner living in that town came to Jesus and saw that Jesus was not rejecting the woman who was a sinner. Manda. So that Pharisee who was said to be pious eventually revealed his identity there.
In order to enlighten the Pharisees who had such a mindset, Jesus gives an “example”. Translated into Korean, ‘two people who borrowed money from someone lived there. One person owed 25 million won, and the other owed 2.5 million won. Both of them were so poor that they had nothing to repay, so they forgave it. Who will love me more?’ The Pharisee replied that, of course, the one who received much forgiveness would love me more.
Jesus said, “Your judgment is right.” “Do you see this woman?” “You did not give me water to wash my feet when I came into your house, but this woman you despised a sinner wet my feet with her tears and washed her hair with her hair; you did not kiss me, You have not stopped kissing my feet, and you have not poured olive oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. has been bought For I love so much!” “To those to whom little is forgiven, love little.” Jesus said to the woman, “Woman, your sins are forgiven you.”
Using this parable, Jesus is still telling us today that he will love the Lord as much as the sins for which he was forgiven. But people are not really realizing this. Just like the Pharisees in the text, they treat the Lord in a formal way. To love the Lord, you must first know who you are and what kind of sinner you are. How can a person who does not fully realize his sin love the Lord?
As seen in the parable of the debtor’s forgiveness that the Lord spoke of, just as a person who has been forgiven a lot of debt can love me, in order to love the Lord, we must first know how much we owe to the Lord, and then we need to know how much debt we owe to the Lord. Only when you realize that you have been forgiven can you love the Lord. Those who love the Lord will absolutely obey the Lord's word. Moreover, such a person does not live consciously of the world, but only consciously of the Lord and dependent on the Lord. That is, whether we live or die, we will only look to the Lord and live.
In fact, all who believe in Jesus owe the Lord a debt that cannot be repaid in words. Even if converted into money, 10,000 talents of gold are close to 4 trillion won in Korean money. The Lord forgave me all the debt. The woman who is a sinner in the text dedicated herself to the Lord by breaking the perfume oil she loved and the alabaster jar, which to her was all her possessions. And the woman was forgiven of her many sins by the Lord and became righteous.
Those who believe in Jesus today are precious bodies bought from the devil with the price of Jesus' blood. Yet they do not know how to love the Lord. "I love you" is only a word that you cry out with your mouth. The Lord showed us how to love humans with his actions, but today, those who believe in Jesus are crying out for love only with words. This is because they do not realize at all how many sinners they are. In other words, you either don't realize that your debt has been forgiven, or you forget it and are doing something ungrateful. This is the action of the Pharisees that this text is talking about. The Lord is looking for a woman who knew she was a sinner and broke her alabaster to meet the Lord. This is because such a person obeys the Lord's words and listens to whatever the Lord tells them to do and obeys them.
Today, let's check how deeply we are aware of our sins. Only those who are deeply aware of their sins can obey the Lord. Also, only such people can love the Lord passionately. How deeply do you realize your sins now? And if you are realizing it, how deeply do you love the Lord? If you love the Lord, how obedient are you to His word? Are you willing to give your life for the Lord if you are obedient? The Lord is looking for such a person now.
