In the first part of the text, the Lord said that no one knows the Son except the Father.
In fact, God the Father and the Lord are one, so no one will know the Son except the Father.
He also said that no one knows the Father except those who receive revelations according to the wishes of the Son.
The Lord attaches great importance to knowing each other through these words today.
John 17:3 emphasizes the importance of knowing, saying, “This is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” However, in fact, there were not many people at the time of Jesus, but because they knew Jesus as the Son of God, they became disciples. Also, without exception, people who were possessed by demons recognized the Lord as the Son of God and often shouted.
Nevertheless, it is saying that no one knows the Son except the Father.
Of course, these words are in the beginning and fundamental, so that no one can know the Son in the first place except the Father. The important thing is to discover that there is a dimension of knowing.
Even at the time of Jesus, as I said, many people knew the Lord, but how they knew Him is what matters.
The demons were feared, saying, "What have we to do with you? Son of God."
On the other hand, the deaf, the blind, the lame, and the lepers would have known him as the One who solved their pain and disease.
Also, the hungry came across the sea to see the One who could satisfy their hunger.
Even those who confessed that Jesus is the Son of the living God and the Christ, devoted their entire lives to becoming disciples of the Lord, were there people who knew the Son as the Father knew the Son? - Before Pentecost and Pentecost.
The disciples wanted to sit with each other at the right and left side of the throne of the Lord, and they thought that the kingdom of Christ would be accomplished physically, and they could not stop fighting over who would sit in the highest position and who would be greater.
Therefore, what I would like to make clear to you at the outset is to emphasize that there was no one who knew the Lord at the level of knowing the Lord revealed in today's text before the Pentecost.
The reason for this is that we must receive revelation according to the wishes of the Son, because this revelation is given completely only through the work of the Holy Spirit.
Also, if we analyze the meaning of the word "knowing" used in today's text from the original language, we think that no one will find any room for argument about my conclusion.
The word “epiginoske” translated as “knowing” does not simply mean to know superficially, but it means to know thoroughly and completely with certainty.
Among the words “to those who receive him, to those who believe in his name,” introduced in John 1:12, the name of that name has a very important meaning for the Hebrew people.
What they call their name is the person's personality and characteristics.
Therefore, God Himself changed the names of those who were renewed.
That is, “Abram” as “Abraham”, “Sarai” as “Sarah”, and “Jacob” as “Israel”.
To believe in his name means to fully accept his person, ideas, teachings, and life. It is to give such people the authority to become children of God.
If you follow the words of the text, you must become a person who knows the Son as you receive and believe in his name.
In fact, in our expressions, we find that knowing is very vague.
When you say you know the man next door, you know it, even someone you've seen a few times knows it, and even if you know the level of that person's resume, you will often use the expressions.
You say you know the president of this country right now, you won't say you don't know.
Therefore, in order for us to become wiser, shouldn't we recognize the limitations of our language and be more faithful to the meaning we want to reveal in the original text?
The word "epigino ske" is one of the most intimate and complete acquaintances of all the words that describe a relationship of knowledge.
When the angel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary and told her that she would give birth to a son, Mary said, "How can I have a son if I have not known a man?" I did. In the level that Mary knows the man, she has to become the Jesus Christ that she knows.
Please remember that this is the only thing that does not grow the Son of God.
In that day you will know that I am in you and I am in you. Also, if you do that, ask whatever you want, and it will be implemented immediately.
Now if you have known the Son, you can know that the Son is in you.
Because He said that He came to give us an abundant life, you will bear abundant fruit in your hearts. It is a power that no one can forbid, and you will feel the true peace of heaven. that's power.
Not only that, but as we become lovers of one another, above all, we come to love God with all our heart, mind, character, life, and strength.
There really is no law forbidding this.
Only those who know the Lord will be granted these powers and privileges.
If you do not know the Lord in this way now, but do it on a doctrinal and intellectual level, you have never known the Lord, and you will never understand the joy and peace of heaven, and moreover, the sublime love of God. And it will be dismissed as an emotional dimension.
If separated families meet each other, recognize that they are parents and brothers, and have indescribable joy, think about the level of knowing the Father and the Lord who created and gave birth to you.
The writer of 1 John testifies that the Lord came to destroy the works of the devil. What is the work of the devil?
Hatred, murder, strife, resentment, sorrow, sickness, and discouragement.
Remember also that these things are destroyed by those who know the Lord.
That is why the writer of 1 John says that he who does not love has not known God.
It also says, “If there is hatred in your heart, how can you have the love of God?” It explains how strong and dangerous the power of love we possess in Christ is.
Now remember that those who know the Son, that is, those who know Christ, love one another above all else.
Therefore, above all else, we must be zealous for the first and new commandments given to us, love of God and love of neighbor.
This is not because of the legal dimension, but because the love of Christ always compels us with overflowing emotion and strength.
I know my son, how can I not do what he wants?
Please believe that he will not only introduce and teach his son, his greatest love, but will also love his enemies.
A farmer found a treasure hidden in the field. He knew that there was a treasure in the field. When he did, he had discovered and sold all of his fortune to buy security.
In this way, those who know Christ, who have discovered Him, can sell out all the hatred, suffering, sorrow, resentment, and envy that they had in the past, that is, they were always with Him while in the flesh.
This is the power that only those who truly know Christ can do it.
Therefore, as it is said that faith without works is dead faith, how can an ignorant person sell what he has? Also, how can we say that we know Christ to those who have their own flesh and live under the control of their fleshly thoughts and hearts?
Think about it.
Anyone who knows the president of a country well will have few obstacles in this day and age.
It will become a no-brainer like the old secret words, and how many things will not work with the police station or the legal profession?
Even today, how many people are doing fraud by impersonating the president's relatives?
Then, what kind of prosperity will come to those who know God, the Lord of heaven and earth, who made the universe and everything, and who is the King of kings and His Son Jesus Christ.
Can Satan torment him?
He will be able to stand up from his feet on Satan, and he will be able to get rid of the anxieties and anxieties that have plagued him so much, and lay off his toil and heavy burdens, and he will be able to attain true joy and peace. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
What could bind him? is it hate are you resentful?
Nothing in the world could ever drive him into darkness and crush him.
Didn't the Lord say it?
He came to set the captives, the prisoners, and the oppressed free.
Think back and see if the truth you know of Christ is setting you free now.
If you cannot lift you up in one stroke from the darkness of the past and all the fruits of the flesh, if you cannot step out of it now and walk in the full light, you must know that your freedom is self-deceitful, and it is still a legal faith itself.
Just as He said, You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free, true freedom comes when Christ sets you free from the devilish and dark things in your mind and heart, that is, from the fleshly things.
How did you set Zacchaeus free?
He gave him freedom by letting him throw away the worldly greed in his heart and allowing him to love his neighbor who was the object of hatred.
It can be found in the appearance of sharing half of his property that his greed has disappeared, and it can be found in the determination to repay four times the love he hated for his poor neighbor has been restored.
The Lord emphasized that a tree can be known by the number of fruits.
The fruit of life is important, and if you do not grow up in Christ, even if you are a child in Christ, this abundant life will be opened.
That is, from darkness to light, from physical life to spiritual life, from oppressed and bound to free.
That is the power in Christ so strong, the glory, the exhortation, the privilege of those who know Christ.
If we are in the Lord and the Lord is in us, remember again the Lord's words to ask whatever we want.
There is nothing impossible for those who know the Son and live in him. Therefore, even the Apostle Paul said, I can do anything through him who strengthens me.
Only those who know the Son are truly given this authority.
Even now, the Lord is telling millions of people on this earth to know Him, and they are earnestly wishing for Him. If it is doctrinal and can be satisfied with knowing Christ the Son, then I am convinced that God puts a megaphone on the top of that sky, and every day, people of the earth, believe in my Son Jesus Christ. It seems that you will be evangelizing yourself like this. But can the devil receive the authority to become children just because he recognized Jesus first? Because it is a blessing given only to those who receive His Word, Person, and Spirit at the center, we receive Christ through true repentance that beats ourselves to submission, and as a result we come to know the Son.
As in today's words, only those who receive revelation according to the Son's wishes know the Son. Since it is said that the Holy Spirit is given to those who ask, seek, and knock, shouldn't we pray to know Christ in the revelation and presence of the Holy Spirit? Those who earnestly seek me will find me. I hope you have the wisdom to call on the name of the Lord more earnestly and finally come to know the Son, so that you can live in the power of heaven, overflowing with peace and gratitude, and full of love.
