He who lives by faith
There are times in your life when you have to make very important decisions. When did you make the most important decision?
Where will the new church be established?
When you are preparing for a new church - Go to Jinburyeong. when the invitation came in.
Chapter 16 records the process of making a major mistake in Abraham's life.
It has been over 10 years since Abraham left his hometown after hearing God's command.
God promised Abraham that he would give him as many descendants as the stars in the sky, but he had no children for over 10 years.
Proving that Jehovah is the God of the covenant by having him offer the covenant sacrifice before the suspicious Abraham and answering it with fire.
In Genesis 16, Sarai, Abraham's wife, is unable to produce, so he asks the master to have a child through Hagar, the maidservant.
Abraham listens to his wife and accepts Hagar, Sarai's servant, without thinking and worrying.
(I hear men say that every ten women don't do it. If you lose your faith, your liver grows.)
# Patient to die, patient to live. - A man looking at a nurse's ass is a man with a chance to live.
A person with closed eyes is a worse person.
important facts
# Faith in the family lives as much as that of women than men. - Men are controlled by women (Adam, Abraham)
# The atmosphere in the home is led by women, not men. - A woman is the sun in the home. (Eve, Sarai)
Sarai, who hands her husband over to another woman, is not an angel with a good heart, but an unbelief who tries to obtain an heir by using a servant.
16:4 - Abraham slept with Hagar, and she conceived.
16:11 - 12 Call his name Ishmael. His hand will strike all men, and all men will strike him. (Man of War)
Lessons from the text
1> God's will is done according to God's way.
It seemed that 10 years had passed since the covenant was made between Abraham and Sarai, but there was no answer, so Sarai tried to have children through her body.
When they were old and there was no answer after 10 years, they were anxious and their faith was shaken. So they tried to get it through a servant.
The God who built the foundation and made a covenant will surely fulfill it.
The promise you made to us today is not a promise you made in terms of wealth.
The covenant promised by hanging the Son on the cross is a promise to save us from our sins.
God's covenant 1> must be fulfilled. let's be forever let's be immutable (As Abraham had a child when he was 100 years old)
2> The method is done according to God's method. (As promised, it is fulfilled through the old Sarai and through the cross.)
3> The crisis of the saints is not a situation of waiting ten years, but a wave of faith.
2> God's answer is God's time.
The timing of the response to God's covenant is determined by God. There are times when God planned for 10 or 20 years.
It is not that God is in a hurry for man to think in haste. Also, God makes no mistakes.
3> What a person gains through unbelief is never helpful to a person.
Sarai tried to have children through her maidservant. I got it, but it didn't help. It remains a historical tragedy.
If a believer tries to gain through unbelief instead of through God's grace, that is no help.
# First of all, it is not really beneficial.
# It is not really beneficial to suffer spiritually even though it is materially beneficial.
Even if it's a little late, let's live in God's grace.
Let's become saints who hold onto the Word. <In order to discern the voice of man and the voice of Satan, we must hold on to the Word.>
Let's be saved and blessed according to God's covenant, but let us be an example to others, and let us receive such blessings as an inheritance to our children.
