The faith of a throbonic woman who risked her life
(Matthew 15:21-28)
In 1829, George Wilson was sentenced to death for a post office robbery.
However, friends of the prison guards suggested to President Andrew and issued a pardon.
The school official took the pardon and went and said,
The president pardoned your brother,
However, the prisoner did not accept a pardon.
The school official was embarrassed and reported this to the president.
The President asked Chief Justice John Marshall to interpret the law on what to do in this case.
As the Chief Justice interprets, a pardon is just a sheet of paper.
If you don't accept it, it won't work. It only comes into effect with the acceptance of the parties involved. Although he was able to receive relief, he refused to grant the pardon and was executed only 30 meters from the place where the pardon was granted.
Faith means accepting God's promises.
Faith is believing and acting without any doubt that the Word of God is truth and that it is faithful.
Those who have this kind of faith have a blessed life.
I pray in the name of the Lord that the grace of the Holy Spirit will be with you when you testify with the word of this time.
1, It is faith that comes before the Lord.
The Lord went on a missionary trip to the region of Sidon in Tire.
In verse 15 of the text, Jesus went out from there and went into the regions of Tire and Sidon.
These are the cities where the old Phoenicians lived, traders, and traditionally worshiped idols of Baal.
Ahab's wife Jezebel, who made Israel into a nation of idols in Elijah's time, is a native of this region.
Because of this woman, Israel was met with a great calamity, which eventually led to its destruction, so the Jews did not want to travel to the area.
However, the Lord broke the barriers of such customs and went there.
If so, we too must remove the humanistic barriers that we have created ourselves. If there is a case where you distance yourself from a certain person and avoid fellowship, you must repent. The reason is that the Lord is not pleased with man-made barriers.
If we consider the contents of this text in conclusion, it is the fact that the reason why the Lord visited the friendship Tire and Sidon was to find the woman Stropheus, the lost sheep.
Knowing that the Serobonic woman, who had been chosen as a child of God, was groaning under the power of darkness, he went a long way to save him.
But look.
The Lord took his disciples along the long road quietly, but how did he know that the Strobonic woman responded to the rumors in the wind.
The woman heard the news that the Lord had come and came to the Lord.
Verse 21 says that Jesus went out from there and went into the regions of Tire and Sidon. A Canaanite woman came out of that area and cried out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me.
In Mark 7:24, the same scene is recorded, Jesus got up and left there and went to the border of Tyre and went into a house so that no one would know, but he could not hide it. Then a woman who had a young daughter possessed by an unclean spirit heard about Jesus, and immediately came and fell at his feet.
This woman was sensitive to the rumors of Jesus.
Those who respond sensitively to the work of Jesus in this way and come out will receive grace.
We must fervently attend all events offered by the church in the name of Jesus.
Only then will you be blessed.
Attendance can be a burden.
But you have to be present with that burden.
Perhaps there were many obstacles that prevented the Strobonic woman from going out when she wanted to approach the Lord. Nevertheless, we overcame those conditions and came out.
It was then that I received the grace of the Lord.
2, It is faith that bowed down before the Lord.
Verse 25: Then a woman who had a young daughter who had an unclean spirit heard the news of Jesus, and immediately came and fell at his feet.
It is very important to bow down before the Lord.
Because it is an act of acknowledging the Lord as Lord.
To bow down literally means to worship, to worship. People at that time did not trust Jesus Christ as the Messiah, who came to save the world.
This is a great tragedy.
However, the Gentile woman Serobonice knew the Lord as Lord. So I fell down before him.
In any case, the faith that can truly bow before the Lord, this faith is a precious faith.
I hope that you can give with a heart that bows before the Lord when worshiping, with a heart that bows before the Lord when singing, and with a heart that bows down before the Lord when serving or devoting yourself.
These are the actions that the Lord respectfully accepts.
We can see this through the confession of the Shroponic woman.
Verse 15 says that Jesus went out from there and went into the regions of Tire and Sidon. A Canaanite woman came out of the area and cried out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me.
The Strobonic woman confessed to the Lord, "Son of the Lord David." To confess that you are the son of the Lord David is a confession that you are the Messiah who came as the son of David.
The title “Lord” is the word God.
It is a confession that God came as a descendant of David.
That's a great confession.
This kind of knowledge is not knowledge acquired through learning, but knowledge acquired by the grace of the Holy Spirit. Please believe that it is the perfect grace of the Lord that we are able to confess Jesus Christ as Lord, just as the Strobonian woman confessed to Jesus Christ as Lord, that is, God.
This kind of knowledge is the knowledge that cannot be acquired unless the Holy Spirit gives it to you. I hope you will be blessed with this kind of grace.
3, It is the faith that begged the Lord.
We must learn an important lesson from the supplications of the Gentile Strobonic woman.
“Have mercy on me, my daughter is terribly demon-possessed.”
This request was not made just once.
I continued to give to the Lord.
to be very noisy.
How loud it must have been for the disciples to tell the Lord!
“It's too noisy. So tell me to go.”
Through the words of the disciple, we learn how earnestly or with all her might, the Strobonic woman reported the problems she encountered to the Lord.
Until you feel the noise around you.
Even if we pray a little loudly, it is very different from our fearful fears about what anyone will say. We learn here that praying doesn't require looking around at all. It means that our prayers must be heard and answered by the Lord.
This woman did.
The Lord cut it off in one word, saying that he could not meet this woman's request.
The text reads, “I was not sent to any other place except the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
In Mark 7:27, the same incident is recorded, Jesus said to them, "Let the children be satisfied first, for it is not lawful to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs.
It is a very harsh statement, and a statement that makes you feel humiliated.
This verse simply means that you cannot give these benefits because you are a foreigner.
“It is not right to throw children’s bread to dogs”
This is a great saying.
Compared to referring to Jews as children, it seems to ignore women as dogs.
Perhaps we would have blushed if we had been there.
Nevertheless, the woman is wonderful.
He doesn't change his face at all, but he challenges the Lord again.
In verse 27, the woman said to her, “Yes, Lord, even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.
We must learn an important lesson from this text.
Sometimes our prayers are not answered.
The Lord doesn't seem to listen at all. As a result, they are often ignored by those around them. They whine about where your God is.
In that case, it is difficult to continue your prayer life. It's hard.
Nevertheless, the Lord instructs us that we must keep on supplicating.
4, It is the faith that is praised by the Lord.
Eventually, the Lord granted this woman's request.
Mark 7:29, Jesus said, The devil has gone out.
It means that faith can move the Lord when we make a confession. When you impress the Lord, your problems will be resolved.
The Lord has commanded. “Let it be as you wish,”
This declaration is a creative imperative that is bound to come true.
In verse 28, Jesus answered and said to her, “Woman, great is your faith; it will be done as you wish.” And from that hour his daughter was healed.
From that psalm means as soon as the Lord declares that your wish will be done.
Dear saints,
Do you want your earnest wishes to come true?
I pray in the name of the Lord that the Lord may see your confession of faith or your actions and declare that your wishes will be granted.
Dear saints,
In the world, things often happen that are completely unexpected.
This episode is exactly that.
I thought the Jews were in control of their faith.
But when I opened the lid, it wasn't like that at all.
The Lord received a satisfactory answer of faith from the Strobonic woman, a stranger who was completely unexpected. It says that the Lord has met a woman of faith that is satisfactory.
The Lord commended this woman's faith.
Then, we must truly become people of faith pleasing to the Lord. So, you need to be able to praise him, saying, “You are a person of great faith.”
The Lord did not praise success.
The Lord did not praise him for being famous.
The Lord did not praise us for being rich.
When he saw a person of faith, he praised him.
Only people who have faith can live a life that is pleasing to God on this earth. This is because the Lord holds on to the person of faith and accomplishes a great work through him.
I pray in the name of the Lord that your life will prosper with blessings with absolute faith in the Lord.
