Title: Those Who Win and Get Out
2013. 2. 3 Sunday morning worship service
Bible: Revelation 15:1-8
Title: Those Who Win and Get Out
Revelation 15:1-8 ‘1. And I saw another great and marvelous miracle in heaven, seven angels having seven plagues, the last, and with this the wrath of God will end. Those who have overcome the number and escaped stand by the sea of glass and have the harp of God,
3. They sang the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God Almighty. The temple was filled with smoke because of it, and no one was able to enter the temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels were finished.
Following the vision in chapter 14, the hymn of the redeemed saints is presented in this chapter. The book of Revelation is not a prophecy for the end of the world only for Christians, but it tells the future of the Jews and the end of the history of this world, so it is a book that foretells the end of all people and history. Focusing on verses 2-3, we would like to examine <Those who have overcome and escaped>.
1. Those who overcome and escape
You need to know the meaning of the word victor. Heretics say that he is the one who overcomes the world, but it is an appropriate word for Jesus Christ who rose from the dead.
John 16:33 “I am telling you these things, that you may have peace in me. In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
And when those who believe in the victor Jesus live in the Lord, they have overcome the world. 1 John 5:4 “Everyone who is born of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith.”
If you look at the book of Revelation based on the meaning of the word, it means Christians, who did not receive the mark of the Antichrist, did not bow down to that idol, and followed only the Lamb Jesus. In the original text, it is written as the victor, but in our translation of the Bible, it seems to be well expressed as those who overcome and overcome. Because there are two kinds of people who sing the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb. It is the Orthodox Jews who have escaped. They escaped from Chapter 12.
Those who overcome and overcome stand on the sea of glass mixed with fire and sing praises, which means that after God's judgment and purification process are finished, they can come to God. There was a laver in front of the Old Testament temple, so the priest washed and made sacrifices. . To come to God, we must go through repentance and purity.
2. The Song of Moses, the Song of the Lamb
It doesn't make sense for Christians to sing the song of Moses. Even if you have overcome the tribulation of the Antichrist and have won, there is no reason to sing the song of Moses. This is the song of salvation that Israel sang after crossing the Red Sea after the Exodus 15: It is the song of the Lamb, that is, the song of Jesus, the Christian's praise of salvation. Therefore, it is a praise sung by Old Testament people and Christian believers together.
For reference, Exodus 15 and Revelation 15 are the hymns of salvation, and 1 Corinthians 15 is the resurrection chapter. It is the same chapter where we share the completion of salvation.
In verse 5, the opening of the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven means that the tabernacle with the ark of the covenant was opened, which is a scene showing the signs that God's covenant will soon be completed. It is prophesied from verse 7, which foretells the coming of fire as the seven bowls of the last trumpet plague.
Many interpreters have overlooked and misunderstood the history of the Jews in many ways, such as interpreting the rapture of the church or the exile of the Jews as the church. We should remember to meet with the Jews the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in Christ.
In order to overcome the last terrible calamity, I pray that you will become saints who can resist the sins of the world in Christ in advance and follow only the words of the Holy Lamb.
