Title: Thought is the Key/ Psalm 1:1~3
Content, thoughts are the key/ Psalm 1:1-3
Key Verse: “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers” (verse 1).
Word: If you think about it, our lives are not very long. So, while everyone is living this life path, if possible, they hope to live as a blessed person, a victor, and a prosperous person. As the psalmist confesses, he wants to enjoy the grace of prosperity, “bearing fruit in its season, and its leaf never withering” (Psalm 1:3). However, in order to live as a prosperous person, thinking is more important than anything else. You have to keep your thoughts. Thought is the key.
One day, on an exceptionally hot day, a man went down to the countryside for business and stayed at an inn. It was very hot that day, but the air conditioner broke, so I woke up and opened the window, but the window was broken. Thanks to the cool breeze from outside the window, I was able to sleep comfortably. But what is this? When I woke up in the morning, it was the mirror, not the window, that had broken last night. Philosopher William James says: “The greatest discovery of our generation is that we can change our lives by changing the attitude of our minds and thoughts.”
Psalm 1:1 verse 1 shows the expansion of sin. The counsel and thoughts of the wicked are manifested in acts of sin, as habits of sin that sit in the seat of arrogance. There is a saying, “Thoughts create words, words create actions, actions create habits, and habits determine life”. Everything in life starts with a thought.
So how do you keep your thoughts? Discerning thoughts that come to mind (1 Thessalonians 5:22). Numerous thoughts come to mind in life, but we must discern them in light of the Word of God. You cannot prevent a bird from passing over your head, but you can prevent it from building a nest. Meditate on the Word (Psalm 1:2). Meditation is not about studying, analyzing, and disassembling, but rather about literally imagining, enjoying, and applying the Word to your life. And pray. Prayer changes everything. Prayer changes history. Prayer changes circumstances, circumstances. But above all else, I change myself. When I pray, my thoughts and my heart change. Open your mouth and pray. If we ask with thanksgiving, God, who is superior in understanding, will guard our hearts and minds.
Prayer: Lord, have mercy on us who conflict and sin because we fail to keep our thoughts, and guide us so that we can always embrace our religious thoughts through your Word and prayer. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
