Title: Thoughts of Self-Deception / Luke 12:19

Contents

Subject: thoughts of self-deception

Text: Luke 12:19

1. We are at peace in our sins.

(Deuteronomy 29:19) Even when he heard these curse words, he comforted himself in his heart, lest, 'If I harden my heart and destroy the wet and the dry, there will be peace.

2. We will not have tribulation.

(Psalm 10:6) Saying in his heart, I will not be moved, nor will I have trouble from generation to generation.

3. Our path is right.

(Proverbs 14:12) There is a way that seems right to a man, but in its end it is the way of death.

4. We are clean because we have not sinned.

(Proverbs 30:12) There are those who consider themselves clean, but do not wash away their filth.

5. Since God does not exist, we will not be punished.

(Jeremiah 5:12) They do not acknowledge the Lord, and say, Because the Lord does not exist, no calamity will come upon us, nor will we see sword or famine (Jeremiah 5:13) The prophets are the wind, and the word is in them. If not, so will they suffer.

6. We must adhere to existing customs, no matter how evil they may be.

(Jeremiah 44:17) We must put into practice every word that came out of our mouth, and burn incense to the goddess of heaven, as we did in the past, as we and our ancestors, our kings, and our princes did in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, and burn incense before her. I will offer you a drink offering, for in those days we had abundant food, and we were blessed, and no evil occurred.

7. Only us with privileges can enter heaven.

(Matthew 3:9) Do not think within yourselves that Abraham is our father, for I tell you, God is able to make these stones also Abraham's descendants.

8. We are zealously guarding the practice of faith.

(Matthew 6:5) And when you pray, do not be like hypocrites, for they love to stand in the synagogues and at the entrances of great streets to pray to be seen by men. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward. (Matthew 6:16) When you fast, do not look sad like hypocrites, for they disgrace their faces so that they can see what they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have already received their reward.

9. We who have received the spiritual gift can enter the kingdom of heaven.

(Matthew 7:21) Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven (Matthew 7:22) On that day many people said to me, “Lord, Lord, Lord, we Did not I prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?

10. We have a lot of knowledge about Jesus.

(Mark 6:3) Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary? Is not this the brother of James and Joseph and Judas and Simon? Aren't his sisters here with us?" And they rejected Jesus.

11. Our lives will go on.

(Luke 12:19) And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; rest, eat, drink, and be merry."

(James 4:13) Hear now, you who say, Today or tomorrow, we will go to any city, and stay there a year, and trade and see it.

12. We Are Better Than Others

(Luke 18:11) The Pharisee stood and prayed by himself, saying, "God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, nor like this publican."

13. Salvation can be obtained through anyone other than Jesus.

(Acts 4:12) There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

14. Christ will not come to judge.

(2 Peter 3:3) Knowing that, in the last days, mockers will come, walking after their own lusts, and mocking them (2 Peter 3:4), saying, Where is the promise of the coming of the Lord? It's just like when you create it.

15. We are spiritually rich.

(Rev 3:17) You say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, but I do not know that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.
