Title: Thousand Burnt Offerings
Contents
Text: 1 Kings 3:3-15
When it comes to a thousand burnt offerings, a thousand means the number of a thousand times, and a burnt offering means a live ox or sheep as an offering to God in Leviticus 1:2. Lay his hands on the beast's head, slaughter an ox or sheep, sprinkle its blood on all four sides of the altar in front of the tent of meeting, and cut the beast into pieces and burn it with fire. So, in the original Hebrew, the word burnt offering was used in the sense of "as smoke and flames rise." Scholars believe that the 1,000 burnt offerings included 1,000 cattle, sheep, and goats, and took about 7-8 days. that continued to be given. Prince Solomon, who inherited the love for God of King David, who loved God so much and longed to build a temple for God's name and His glory, and received a good religious education from the Prophet Nathan. He offered a thousand burnt offerings to Thousands of cattle and sheep were sacrificed to God. God was moved by this. So you appeared in my dream. That is the content of today's text. Read the text again.
Verses 4-5. “Ask for something to give you.”
Verse 9, Solomon answered, "Give me a wise heart, so that I may discern between good and evil and become a kind king."
What is important is the next 10 verses. “What Solomon asked was pleasing to God.”
“It was pleasing to God,” that is, we asked according to God’s will. such a word. Solomon's request is to impress God again. So God says: "I like you so much that you did not seek number (long life), wealth (富: riches, money, riches), neither seek revenge nor seek wisdom." I will give you everything you did not ask for.
Dear saints, If God pleases you, he will not only ask for it, but will also give you what you did not ask for. Last week I went to lead a revival meeting at Paul's Prayer Center. There were not many people, but every hour someone writes down the number 236 or 237 for the 1,000 burnt offering. I thought that the person who knew that Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings, moved God, heard God's voice and received God's blessings, continued to offer them. I've been wanting to start offering a thousand burnt offerings in the church for a long time. A thousand worship services, a thousand early morning prayers, a thousand evangelism, a thousand Bible readings, a thousand thanksgiving, these are great things.
(1) If you want to pray 1,000 times in the morning, you have to do 12 months, 365 days a year, every day for 3 years.
(2) In order to worship 1,000 times, it is necessary to hold all Sunday day, night, Wednesday, all-night prayer meeting, and class meeting 5 times a week for 4 years.
⑶ If you want to evangelize by 1,000 people, one person a year must do it for 1,000 years, and if there are 10 people a year, you have to do it for 100 years.
⑷ The gift of thanks a thousand times is to give 1 million won if you give 1,000 won at a time, and 10 million won if you give 10,000 won at a time...
⑸ If you read the Bible one chapter a day, it will take at least five years.
Dear saints, Prosperity, honor, wealth, and glory in King Solomon's life, all these blessings were given because Solomon inherited the faith of his father David and loved God. God's love was carried out in two ways in Solomon's life. One was to build a temple, which was the wish of his father, King David, and the other was to offer a thousand burnt offerings to God. Our church has built a temple. Now, I would like to offer a thousand burnt offerings. It was with a thousand burnt offerings and the construction of the temple that Solomon pleased God and moved God's heart to enjoy God's grace and blessings. It's like the two rails of a train. I hope we all do it.
a thousand burnt offerings
(1) You can impress God.
(2) Receive God's blessing.
⑶ God in the first place Even if you make a mistake against God, God will not throw it away. what do you mean? In the last years of Solomon's life, a ghost came and he accepted the request of his concubines and allowed the idol of the gods. Then Solomon ends with that. Because God hates the four gods the most. Nevertheless, God did not completely forsake him, leaving the southern kingdom of Judah to allow his son Reroboam to continue to reign. You can see that this is God's mercy and consideration for Solomon, who loved God while constructing the thousand burnt offerings and the temple.
