Title: Three Faces of a Blessed Man
Three aspects of a blessed man (Genesis 45:1-15)
1. Appearance with rich emotions
In the text, there is a scene where Joseph and his brothers are released after Joseph is finally moved by Judah's sacrificial words and reveals his identity. How many years after the year? Joseph was sold to his brothers at the age of 17 (Gen. 37:2), and after 13 years he became Prime Minister of Egypt at the age of 30 (Gen. 41:46). After that, after 7 years of plenty and 2 years of famine, Joseph's brothers came from Canaan to find food, so 9 years after he became prime minister, Joseph met his brothers. Therefore, after 22 years in total, it was released.
Although Joseph was outwardly cold-blooded when he first met his brothers, he was actually a warm-blooded man (vv. 1-2). He had a warm sensibility that could shed tears. He knew how to impress, he knew how to respond, he knew how to appreciate To become a blessed being, do not become a person with blood and tears, but do your best to moisten your heart with the tears of prayer to move, participate, and have a warm personality that knows how to devote yourself.
As you can see, a lot of good things are done through people with rich emotions. Missions is also accomplished through such people. they think “How much will a missionary suffer there?” He thinks about it and eventually emptys his pockets. God's blessings overflow when we link good intentions with such rich emotions to good material spending.
2. Do not forget to be grateful
As soon as he reveals his identity to his brothers, Joseph begins by asking, “Is my Father still alive?” (verse 3). He had a heart for his parents and never forgot the love he received from his father Jacob. Why is filial piety important? Because it is a representative aspect of life that does not forget gratitude. The reason God blesses people who honor their parents and respect their leaders is because such people know how to thank God.
No matter how many complaints you have, basically set aside the things to be grateful for and always be grateful. For example, when there are a hundred things to be thankful for and a hundred things to complain about, there are three kinds of people. First, a person who forgets everything to be thankful for and thinks about a million things to complain about. Such a person is a minus 100 point life. Second, a person who subtracts a hundred things to be thankful for from a hundred things to complain about. Such a person is a zero-point life. Third, people who forget what to complain about and think about a million things to be thankful for. Such a person is a plus 100 point life.
Be the third kind of person. As a human being, when a difficult situation arises, it is impossible not to complain at all. But think of what to complain as a tenth, and a tenfold for what you are grateful for. That's not perfect, but I can say that I live a life of gratitude in everything. Those who give thanks in such a way are given even greater things to be thankful for.
3. Putting God's Providence First
After revealing his identity, Joseph spoke reassuring words to his brothers, without saying a word about how he felt sorry for them in fear that they might become anxious about the past (verses 4-5). How did Joseph come to have such a generous heart? It was because he had a thorough awareness of God's providence. God's greatest concern is our eternal life and happiness. In order to give you such a more precious blessing, sometimes you block things that get in the way of that blessing. So don't get discouraged when God blocks something.
In particular, God's plan for descendants must be included in God's plan (verse 7). Among God's plans, there is no plan that ends with a flash of light in our time. Among God's blessings, the greatest blessing is the 'blessing of succession'. So, true blessings must be passed down to descendants and descendants. As such, God's plan ultimately leads to our blessing, success, and victory, so the most important thing is to become worthy of God's heart and worthy of love.
The three beat blessing prayer was given because Gaius was the one whom the apostle John loved. Even if you become a person loved like that, these blessings will be given, and if you become a person loved by God, there is no doubt that even greater blessings will be given to you. It doesn't matter if difficulties come then. If we regard those difficulties as being accomplished in God's great and good hand, and do not give up our faith in such times and dedicate ourselves to good works, then good things that greatly surpass those difficulties will emerge.
