Title: Three Great Tools to Defeat Satan
Revelation (54) Three great tools to defeat Satan (Revelation 12:10-12)
1. Blood of the Lamb
Satan is a being cast out of heaven and has already been defeated (verse 10). So, the DNA of defeat is already deeply imprinted in Satan. On the contrary, the DNA of victory is already deeply imprinted on the saints. The important thing is to make that fact a reality. Nowadays, many saints live as losers against Satan rather than as victors. However, based on the fact that Satan has no control over the saints, the saints must create a reality that can defeat Satan.
In order to defeat Satan, the first thing we need is the “blood of the Lamb” (verse 11). The blood of the Lamb is the foundation of faith. Because of that blood, God accepted us with joy. If God happily accepted it, all wins and losses have already been decided. The blood of the Lamb expands the concept and challenges the life of the cross. If we take up our cross and persevere, we can surely overcome Satan.
No matter how great difficulties and sufferings may be, never give up on the good fight of faith and never give up on your holy vision. Considering the blood of the Lamb, our difficulties are really small. Thinking like that creates deep peace in your heart. In fact, real peace is peace that worldly circumstances cannot control. Never forget that true peace comes from being reconciled to God through the blood of the Lamb.
2. Words that testify
Even if you are saved by the blood of the Lamb, if you do not testify to that blood, the blood of the Lamb has no meaning beyond that it opened the way of salvation. Therefore, we must always testify to Christ in our lives. If the saints are immortal and testify to the Lord, they can overcome Satan (verse 11). That is why the testimony of the lips is so important.
In Luke 1, an angel delivered the word of God to the priest Zacharias. “Zacharias! Your prayers will come up and you will have a son.” Then Zacharias spoke of disbelief. “I am old and my wife is old, what son do I have?” Then the angel said, "The word of God is not impossible, so why do you speak like that?" And he shut Zacharias' mouth. Eventually, Zacharias' mouth was closed until the birth of John the Baptist. How often do you not receive God's grace and blessings because of your mouth?
The reason that the Israelites could not enter Canaan was because of their distrust of God. On the other hand, Joshua and Caleb entered Canaan because of their trusted mouths. If the mouth goes to Canaan first, blessings usually follow. The mouth is not just a tool for speaking, it is a representation of the body, and the words that come out of it are a sign of character. Blessings are highly dependent on the mouth. Likewise, we receive salvation and blessings with our mouths, but the most important thing we must do with our mouths is to testify of the gospel. Witnessing the grace of God that came through your mouth is the most powerful weapon you can use to overcome Satan.
3. Joyful Life
Saints can live a life in heaven even on this earth. If you want to live a life in heaven on this earth, you just have to live it with joy and joy. Joy and joy are important signs of victory over the devil (v. 12). If you give thanks for grace for salvation and depend on the Lord for everything, fear will disappear and joy will arise. Then Satan the devil can never defeat him. The forefathers of faith defended the church with such courage, singing joy in the midst of suffering.
One day, the Roman emperor caught Chrysostom and questioned him. “I will kick you out of the house!” Then Chrysostom answered. “Emperor! That's impossible. Because the whole world is my father’s house and my house.” said the emperor. “Then I will confiscate all your possessions.” He said again. “Emperor! That's also impossible. Because all my real wealth is in heaven.”
The king said again. “Then I will put you in solitary confinement and make you die alone!” Chrysostom said again. “Emperor! That's also impossible. Because Jesus will be my friend forever and he will be with me.” Who would take away the joy of such forefathers of faith? Believe that God is with you and save you no matter what the circumstances, so live with joy and thanks always. If you are in a moment of extreme hardship, that is when the devil's time is near.
