(2012.02.12. Afternoon) (Genesis 4:25-26)
If you can, it is best to make no mistakes, not sin, and live nicely and beautifully.
But if you can't live like that - if you have made a mistake or committed a sin - then it is imperative that you recover quickly.
If you think <this is wrong>, please do not hesitate to find the way of recovery.
Unfortunately, Cain did not repent after his sin, nor did he recover.
There were many opportunities for repentance, but he did not repent until the end and was expelled after only lying and making excuses.
So Cain is the one who made the world into darkness - from the time Seth was born, that darkness was lifted and recovery began.
1. The age of darkness after Cain.
As Cain sinned and did not repent, the whole world became dark.
1) Darkness has come to Cain, who has committed a crime.
(4:14) - "You have cast me out of the face of the earth today, and I will not see Your presence; I will be a refugee and a wanderer from the earth. Anyone who meets me will kill me.
* You have been cast out by God. * Fellowship with God has been cut off. *I lost a stable life. *I had to panic.
At that point, there is no hope for Cain. There is no light - Cain's life has been a dark one ever since.
2) Darkness has come to the home.
Just because one Cain sinned does not mean that only one Cain who committed a crime has a dark cloud.
The home was plunged into darkness.
A murder took place in Adam's family, which had always been peaceful.
* Because of Cain's murder, Abel, the filial son who lived by faith, died.
*After the death of his filial son, Abel, his parents had to see Cain, the only remaining filial son, abandoned by God.
One of the two sons died (4:8) and the other was cast out (4:14) - Adam's home became a dark home.
It would have been great if Cain, who had attracted darkness, had removed the darkness and restored himself and his family, but Cain could not restore himself and his family.
However, it is not God who will leave the family in the dark world forever.
How did God restore the world that had turned into darkness because of Cain?
2. Recovery through three.
(4:25) - “Adam slept with his wife again, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth, because God had given me another seed in place of Abel, which Cain killed.”
After Abel died and Cain was driven out - God gave a third son to Adam's family, who lived alone. - He has three sons.
1) Restoration of the family.
After Seth was born into Adam's family, new hope was born and new happiness came to Adam's family.
It is no longer a lonely family with only two couples.
God restored the father first by allowing a new son to be born into Adam's dark family, who lived alone.
2) Restoration of faith.
The birth of Seth was not just a happiness for one family.
With the birth of the three, not only the family but also the world was restored.
Before Seth was born, Cain had cut off fellowship with God and the relationship with his parents, so Adam's family also lost vitality and lost their relationship with God.
The three were born in a world where the beauty of faith could not be found in a family that was hurt even in their religious life - they had a mission to restore faith and brighten society as a gift from God.
(4:26) - “And Seth also had a son, and he called his name Enosh, and at that time men began to call on the name of the Lord.”
*Finally, we called on God and our faith was restored.
*The dark world darkened by Cain's crimes, *The dark world that Cain could not restore himself,
*It was a dark world that even Adam could not restore.
*However, the family and the world were restored through the three sons, a gift from God.
* A world in which lost faith and dormant faith are revived - a world in which faith is restored - this is the world created by Seth.
3. The influence of one person greater than the world.
We have a lot to learn from looking at the three early human generations up to now.
You can see how enormous the influence of one person can be.
*Due to the sin of one man - Adam, all mankind became sinners, and death came to all mankind.
* Cain's crime - Cain himself, his family, and the whole world became a dark world.
*On the other hand, with the birth of three people - the family that was wandering in darkness became the family of light, and the world of darkness was restored to the world of light.
Even if one person seems small and one person's actions seem small - we know that the whole world is greatly affected by that one small person.
*When a Korean cargo ship was hijacked by pirates last year - Captain Seok Hae-gyun risked his life to protect the ship and crew - All of them survived safely due to the operation of the soldiers.
*After all, when an Italian cruise ship ran aground last year - the captain told the passengers not to know and ordered only the crew to evacuate, and he escaped first, killing many passengers.
It was also known through the media outlets that the actions of a single captain kill or save the crew and passengers.
Beloved saints, even though we may seem weak - we are by no means weak.
*Because of you alone - your family may be happy or your family may be unhappy.
*You alone can darken the world or brighten the world.
* Each of you can stop the revival of the church or it can revive the church.
* Death came into the world because of Adam, and darkness came into the world because of Cain - What a shameful name.
*Thanks to Seth, the family became happy, the world became brighter thanks to Seth, and people's faith was restored thanks to Seth - What a proud name.
Like Adam or Cain - not to be remembered as a destroyer.
Like Seth - a person who restores, a person who illuminates the world - I pray that your names will become so shining.
