Title: Three rich men (Luke 12:16-21)

Contents There was a woodpecker who had just graduated from school. The woodpecker clings to the tree and began to peck it as he had been taught in school. I gave strength to the neck and aimed well, and pecked it once. Oddly enough, the tree fell off a bit. The second time, he pecked with more force. The pieces of wood stick out a little more.

He gave his neck more strength and pecked him for the third time, just as a lightning bolt fell from the sky and struck the tree. The woodpecker, who fell from the tree in surprise, said when he saw the tree that had been toppled with a broken middle piece, he said, "Oh my God, I mustered up my strength and took a third shot!

This up-and-coming woodpecker school graduate knew that the tree had broken in the middle and fell over because he had tripped it over three times. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . It is truly astonishing.

There are people like woodpeckers in the world. Even after being treated by God's hand, I know that I have done well. They misunderstand that I work hard and that I am strong and that I am wise. Turn to giving God's grace and blessings.

Whether we know it or not, our lives are lived under the providence of God. Every move is under God's watch. You cannot escape the face of God and you cannot disobey God's works.

However, even believers who claim to believe and serve God do not have the correct faith that God requires. They use their faith in Jesus as a source of self-interest. It is indeed a sad reality. Even in the Bible verses we are going to look at today, we see that there are such shameless people.

The Gospel of Luke tells the story of a rich man more than any other Gospel. Chapter 12 contains the parable of the rich fool. Chapter 15 tells the story of a rich man who is also the father of the prodigal son. Chapter 16 tells the story of a rich man who went down to hell. Chapter 18 tells the story of a rich ruler who came after the Lord. In chapter 19 we read the story of the rich man Zacchaeus. Chapter 20 is the story of a rich man who rented a large vineyard to farmers and went abroad. The Gospel of Luke is a book about the rich man.

The Lord did not speak except in parables. There are many stories of rich people in the parables. Why were rich people often used as material for parables? Among the rich men in the parable, I would like to talk about the five rich men.

Today I will talk about the three rich people, and next time I will talk about the other two rich people. Many people who want to become rich, I want you to understand the deep meaning of the Lord's parables and receive grace through the three rich men in Luke's Gospel today.

The first is the parable of the rich fool in Luke 12:16-21. This rich man was very sincere, unlike any other rich man. I also had a dream. There was also the impetus for the realization of that dream. He worked hard. I also saved. And luck followed. In that year there was a good harvest. A bountiful harvest was harvested. He was a really lucky guy. However, it was not the mood swing that was captivated only by the joy of a good harvest. He was a very careful and careful person.

Not only did he do his job well, but he also had excellent management skills. He also knew how to use the stockpile economy during the cold winter or in case of a famine that might come the next year.

This man built his new warehouse. Of course, the cost of building a new warehouse for food stockpiles must have been calculated. Now all of his life dreams have come true. I was very satisfied. Looking back, it was worthwhile to tighten the belt.

Now he has his feet stretched out. Up until now, the plan was to raise money, but the problem was how to enjoy one's life next time. He brought in an Italian bed to rest more comfortably.

It also has a video audio system. For my hobbies, I did calligraphy and bought a few golf clubs.

What a wonderful life will unfold. Doesn't it make your heart pound just thinking about it? In fact, it is a dream and wish that we all want to do like this.

I put my life together with my pants in order. Now is the time to enjoy. Embroidering the splendid dreams of tomorrow, that night, he stretched his legs out for a long time, went into his new soft bed, and slept peacefully. But he didn't have a chance the next day.

He had everything, but most importantly, he lacked a soul savior. God called his soul that night. When God calls us, we must leave the things in this world as they are, no matter how precious or regretful they are.

Wealth is not what we need the most. We must be rich toward God. Luke 12:21 concludes this way. ?o is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.??

The second is the parable of the rich man and Lazarus in Luke 16:19-31. This rich man was truly sympathetic while he lived in the world.

It is said that he wore purple robes and fine linen robes. Purple clothes are a symbol of authority. As an emirate of the province, he possessed both wealth and power. In a word, it was the maintenance of the province.

Fine sackcloth also symbolizes human good deeds. This man was a scholar of high stature worthy of recognition for his conduct. He was always courteous and did not forget his manners. At the ancestral rites, according to the rites, at the wedding ceremonies, according to the wedding laws, both in words and deeds, it was solemn and abstract.

This man gave this banquet in luxury every day. You just need to know the size of the property. He was a man who knew the wind. He probably didn't leave his name on the social pages of newspapers because he would donate 20 million won and donate a lot to some big event when he met a natural disaster.

He was truly a celebrity, a savvy fashionista and a philanthropist. He is a wonderful person who is without blemish in his morals, his virtues, or his conduct even in our eyes. He has five brothers, and he seems to have lived with praise from all corners of society.

Ironically, there was a beggar living in the doorway of this rich man. However, the great yangban was not interested in the beggars parasitic on the doorstep of his house. The beggar had boils. They quarreled with the dogs and fought to get the crumbs that fell from the rich man's table. The rich man didn't care about the life of such a scruffy beggar. It is just disgusting to laugh at a beggar who is having a party full of unknown delicacies and food scraps and fighting for survival with his little dogs.

However, he did all he could to acknowledge the rich man by acknowledging the ugly appearance he had in front of him. He did not care about his human rights. The haves only have a world of only the haves.

The beggar is dead. There was no one to remember. The rich also died. There must have been an obituary in the newspaper, and the broadcast was a riot.

The rich man died and went to Hades, or Hell. Contemplating amidst the burning flames, I gazed at paradise. There was a beggar Lazarus.

Being a beggar in paradise sometimes seems vague to us.

But it is not a matter of faith that the beggar goes to paradise. God took over the human rights that the rich neglected.

Money is a good thing. But money is for people, not people for money. Money should contribute to living together as human beings. It is an issue that modern people who ignore human rights and pursue only their own comfort and fame in order to earn money, ignoring the harmonious life, deserve to be considered.

The third is the story of the rich ruler in Luke 18:18-23. This ruler has been gathering the Lord. He was a man who longed for eternal life. I asked the Lord for a way to gain eternal life. See the passion of the seeker.

The Lord was impressed with that passion and told us to keep the commandments first.

He longed for eternal life. It was really wise. In order to enter the kingdom of eternal life, the ultimate world of man, he kept all the commandments of God. To keep the commandments of the law, we must be free from all human desires. There must have been many things that were difficult to keep as a wealthy person. But even that was overcome.

It may be because he was so confident in his personal life that he brought the Lord to discuss the matter of eternal life. But the Lord speaks. Rather, he says that you lack one thing. Maybe that's more important than anything else. It's just riches. Wealth may be more of a hindrance than a benefit to those who are sincere followers of Christ.

The Lord told him to sell his possessions and give it to the poor, and you must follow me. This was a great test for the rich man. In the end, this rich man had the hope of eternal life, but he did not have the courage and determination to give up his wealth.

Eternal life is the joy, joy, and satisfaction of an eternal and endless life. However, it is more difficult to shake off the resonance of wealth and wealth in front of us than the problems of tomorrow that are invisible to our eyes.

The Lord did not humiliate wealth. He wanted to see the faith of giving up wealth. This rich man did not know that being with the Lord was more important than anything else. It is a lack of values. I don't know how many people today ruin themselves with these false values.

The three rich people mentioned above are negative images of rich people. Having wealth is a good thing. But they also had problems with their wealth. Wealth exists to share. However, our reality is that people are struggling only to accumulate their wealth.

God is rich. You want your children to be wealthy. Heaven is a rich country. Since God, who created the heavens and the earth and all things, is the Lord, how rich and prosperous his kingdom will be. The kingdom of God we aim for and believe in is such a rich country.

There is eternal life. There is eternal peace. There is eternal food. There is eternal joy. It is a place where God's eternal riches abound.

God sent His Son to this earth to bring true and eternal wealth to us humans. The Lord shows us through these rich people that knowing how to let go is a good gain.

The Lord shows how futile it is to just have.

It shows how sad it is to turn away from our poor and needy neighbors. It shows how unfortunate it is to not know how to throw it away.

The Lord left the splendor of the throne and came to the manger. He was hung on the cross naked. The Lord obtained eternal and precious things by forsaking things that perish and perish. The Lord declared after the Resurrection. ?ll authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.??Here is the secret of true gain.

It is not in vain to follow the way of the Lord when we want to be rich. If you truly want to have eternal wealth, I bless you in the name of the Lord that you have the wisdom to follow your way.
