Title: Throne of God / Revelation 21:5-14
Contents
Introduction
Isaiah 27:7 says that God is honest and that His throne was established based on His disposition. That is why Psalm 89:14 says, 'Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne.' Then, let's take a look at the nature of God's throne and the foundation upon which it is supported through the Bible.
Earth 1: Righteousness and justice are the foundations of the throne of God.
If righteousness and justice are the foundation of God's throne and become God's disposition, the attributes of righteousness and justice will be expressed in the following few characteristics.
The first is 'argument'. It means 'tough and compassionate' and refers to a very gentle heart and a clear mind as if there were no clouds. That is why Romans 11:22 says, 'Therefore, behold the mercy and majesty of God!'
The second attribute is 'sincerity'. This means a life that bears fruit through devotion in all life.
The third is 'truth'. This means being honest and true in character, having no shadows and no obscurity in the heart. Therefore, to be sincere means 1) without falsehood 2) truly 3) surely 4) truly 5) with a clear character and attitude.
On the other hand, in Revelation 21:27, there are those who cannot enter the kingdom, and they are said to be 'unclean or detestable, or liars.' 'Abominable' refers to unbelief that is 1) ugly, 2) disgusting, and 3) hates God. In a ceremonial sense, this includes all acts of worshiping idols (1 Kings 11:5; 2 Kings 16:3), and in a moral sense, it refers to unethical acts and business, especially fornication (Proverbs 20:23; 22-23). Also, in the animal world, it refers to unclean things (Leviticus 11:10).
The specifics of these abominations are largely about 'lies' and 'dogs'. First of all, a lie is something that goes against the truth and is falsely concocted and deceived. Therefore, we are saying that God never likes lies, and He cannot tell lies. Also, in Revelation 22:15 it says, 'Dogs, and sorcerers, and fornicators, and murderers, and idolaters, and everyone who loves and creates lies outside the city. In particular, Philippians 3:2 also says, 'Beware of dogs,' and the specific meaning of this is as shown in Galatians 5:19-20.
2 Earth: The assembly of the firstborn is the foundation of the throne of God.
Just as the eldest son in a family is the beginning of the father's energy and the foundation of the family, the firstborn son is the foundation of the kingdom of God and the throne in it. Heb 12:22-23 refers to this as 'a general assembly of the firstborn' because it is the first-born, but not one, but is composed of many firstborns.
Earlier, God made the 12 tribes of Israel through the 12 sons of Jacob and said that Israel was His firstborn (Exodus 4:22). Therefore, the foundation of the heavenly throne must be God's firstborn, spiritual Israelites. But if you look at Revelation 21:12-14, you can see that the city of New Jerusalem in heaven has 12 gates and 12 foundation stones, the names of the 12 tribes of Israel are written on the 12 gates, and the names of the 12 apostles are written on the 12 foundation stones. So, what do the twelve gates and the twelve foundation stones mean?
In Joshua 6:26, Joshua prophesied that anyone who rebuilds the city of Jericho will be cursed, and the firstborn will be lost when the foundation is laid, and the younger will be lost when the gate is built. The foundation means the eldest son, and the gate means the second son. In 1 Kings 16:34, according to Joshua's prophecy, Hiel the Bethelite was building the city of Jericho, but he lost his firstborn son when he built the foundation and Maljae when he built the gate.
Therefore, even in the kingdom of heaven, the names of the twelve tribes are written on the twelve gates and the names of the twelve apostles on the twelve foundation stones, indicating that the twelve tribes of Israel stand in the position of the second son, and the position of the twelve apostles stands in the position of the firstborn. Yes, but why are the names of the twelve tribes of Israel, who were children of God, engraved on the twelve gates, the seat of the second son? 1 Corinthians 15:50 says that 'blood and flesh' cannot inherit the kingdom of God. However, the 12 tribes of Israel, who were God's firstborn sons, ended up nailing Jesus to the cross and putting Him to death. On the other hand, since the twelve apostles received the Lord by faith and spread the gospel to the whole world, they deserve their names to be engraved on the foundation stone of the heavenly throne and can become true firstborns who receive the throne of God. So, in Matthew 19:28, it is clearly stated that the true firstborn saints who follow the Lord in the last days will sit on the throne with the Lord and judge the twelve tribes of Israel.
conclusion
The throne of God is made up of righteousness and justice. Also, this throne is supported by the firstborn, that is, by the assembly of the firstborn. Then, our believers who will accomplish God's will by synthesizing the words of the Old and New Testaments at the end of the day are invisible, but just as the foundation that supports the pillars of a large house is hidden in the ground, they must become the true foundation for upholding the throne of God.
