Title: To become a successful racer in life

* Cultivate with the Word ▶ Hebrews 12:1-2
1) Therefore, since we have a multitude of witnesses surrounding us like a cloud,
Putting off the sins that easily entangle us, and with perseverance run the race set before us,
2) Let's look to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.
He endured the cross for that, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
Ⅰ. We should run in anticipation of the prize.
Today's Word is not a life that ends in a moment's worthless life, how we should live
We are talking about whether we will live a life of eternal glory as the victor of faith. We are racers of faith. The reason we run the race of faith is because we look forward to the eternal reward of the judgment Lord Jesus Christ. But many people run the race of life without realizing it is a goal. You run with everything you put your mind to, but you find that you have reached the wrong point. There are factors that keep us from winning when we run the race of faith. It is said that the things that must be removed for victory are “all heavy things,” the hindrances. Runners try to be as light as possible to win the race. No runners wear thick clothes. No one runs with a family. Eliminate all obstacles and obstacles with only one thought for victory. Another hindrance is “sin prone to entanglement.” The nature of sin has a strong tendency to cling to it easily. I need to break free of the sins that cling to my body and mind and cause me to give up my race.
The race in life we must run is not a race of speed. It's a long-distance race where everyone runs on their own different track. In that race of faith, broken feelings and bitter roots always get in the way of my race. And 'money', 'my dream', 'greed for world position', 'busy work', 'evil habits', 'interpersonal relationships that are more than necessary', 'fun in the world' and 'popularity and recognition in the world' are all of our beliefs. It interferes with the race. The daily life we live in itself is my track. In the track of my life, I must run while looking forward to the eternal reward and glory that God will give me.
Ⅱ. We must run while looking only at Jesus.
When we run the race of faith, we must escape from numerous temptations and obstacles in order to win, fix our eyes on Jesus only, and run while looking only at Him. Only by looking to Jesus Christ is the only way that I can keep running the race of faith free from the obstacles that hold me back and keep me from falling. When Jesus came to this earth, he also ran the race of his faith. His life was a life of walking while carrying the cross. “It was because of the joy that was set before him” that he was able to bear the weight and hardship of the cross, and he ran in anticipation of the glory he would receive when he finished the race of faith. There was shame in carrying the cross. They had to endure the pain of contempt, ridicule, persecution, ignorance, beating, condemnation and even death. But when we think of the glory we'll get, it's only temporary. The Lord did not mind the shame of the cross.
