Title: To Receive Grace/John 1:14-18
Contents
Even at this moment, many souls are living in shame (poverty, ugliness, sin, etc.), in fear (war, hunger, unemployment, etc.), and in pain (illness, guilt, persecution, etc.). It is a tragedy that we have no choice but to live like this without knowing the truth. The Lord has allowed all His followers to enjoy a life of abundance. Yet, what do we lack, who are living in shame, fear and suffering? It is the grace of God. Even though we have received the grace of God, we lack the understanding of grace and live without enjoying it. The first thing we need is to receive grace, and the second is to enjoy the grace we have received.
1. What is grace?
2. Reasons for not receiving grace
God gives us grace very abundantly, but the reason we do not receive it is that first, when we find the wrong address, that is, grace is given only through the Lord, and we go to the wrong place to receive grace. Second, we distrust God's grace It is because we depend more on the law and strive to be perfect on our own, which makes us not the grace of God. Thirdly, because we remain proud of what we can do with our own strength. We are saved by keeping the law. Those who want to receive salvation are like the Pharisees who are trying to work out salvation on their own. They are the ones who want to make the cross of Jesus in vain. We must be humble to receive much grace. Fifth, we do not live in the Word, the house of grace, far away. Sixth, when you live a life that departs from the truth, you do not receive grace, and even if you receive it, it all disappears. The words grace and truth appear repeatedly in the text, but this is a warning against false grace.
3. What must I do to receive grace?
Now I am about to finish my sermon.
The Lord is full. He is full of grace and full of truth. How foolish we are if we say that we follow the Lord and are not full. May you be full of grace. May you be full of truth. May you be full of the Word. May you be filled with the Holy Spirit. We can be filled through the Lord. I bless you in the name of Jesus that you receive abundantly.
