Title: To Those Who Believe in His Name

1992.12. 25
If you look at the text, the phrase 'to those who believe in his name' appears.
Here, what is his name? First, it means the Messiah. The anointed is the name of Christ in the Old Testament. The anointing was given to three offices: prophet, priest, and king. The Messiah is the anointed one. This came down to the New Testament and was changed to the word Christ.
Oil is the Holy Spirit. In other words, Christ means a person who is filled with the Holy Spirit. The meaning of its name is Curious, which means Lord. This word is a title given to the emperor, and it means a privileged person or a ruler. And there is the word Immanuel, and the meaning is shown in Matthew 1:33, 'The meaning of the word Immanuel is that God is with us'. The word Jesus means to exhort his people from my sins, as he predestined them before the Lord was born.
Then secondly, what is the authority granted to those who believe in his name? That is, forgiveness, grace, and forgiveness of sins. You don't know how grateful I am. The Lord Jesus, who was born, has forgiven our sins.
Next is the authority to become a child of God. We are the princes of God and princess moms. We are the children of sin. The Lord came to this earth in the flesh and opened the way for forgiveness. If we believe in Jesus through that name, we can enjoy the privilege of becoming children of God. So it is favored by the world.
He has also given us the promise of eternal life. And you can defeat the powers of evil and you can defeat the disease. In Hebrews 1:14, it is said that 'the Spirit of angels always follows and protects us', so we can live a life filled with the Holy Spirit. This filling of the Holy Spirit means being able to live a life of joy, gratitude, love, and all the positive things.
He has given this authority to those who believe in his name. In Hymn 333:4, it says, 'If you believe, you will.
If you believe in the Lord Jesus alone, you will receive grace and come to Him, and you will have eternal life.” The only person who can save me is Jesus Himself.
So what does it mean to believe in Jesus? There are three
First, to obey is to believe in Jesus. Obedience reminds us of Abraham. Abraham became the father of faith through obedience. Isn't it said that obedience is better than sacrifice?
Second, to let go of doubt is to believe. Jesus said to Thomas, who was suspicious, "Do you believe when you see me? Blessed are those who have not seen and believe."
Third, trust in God is faith. Hymn 340 also says, “It is a very happy day to depend on the Savior Jesus. Since it has been given permission, I have no doubt about it.” Trust in the Lord is faith. Trust and faith arise from the wife's dependence on the husband, the children's dependence on their parents, the people's dependence on the king, and the human's dependence on God.
Fourth, faith is to follow. How could it not be a joy to follow in the footsteps of the Lord? Our life of faith is to see the Lord go and follow in His footsteps. If you live this kind of life of faith, you will resemble the Lord. This is the Restoration Garden that restores the lost original form of God.
Fifth, to believe means to bow down and worship. It is said that wise men from the East came from a long way to worship, open treasure chests, and offer gifts of gold, sulfur, and myrrh. This is what it means to believe.
Sixth, to believe means to receive. If a guest comes to your home, close the door saying you can't come in and try to be cold. That relationship would end up being a very bad one. There are several places in the Bible about the relationship of welcoming and joyfully welcoming people by saying, “Welcome.”
Abraham received an angel. So the son was blessed. Reception isn't just about talking. If you are welcomed, but poor hospitality, you will be struck by lightning later. To receive, to receive and welcome with joy is faith.
seventh. loyalty. Service. Believing is shown by works. Even if you have faith, if you do not have works, your faith is dead. I regret the past year under three. If you regret it, you must make up your own mind with a new resolution.
From next year, I will have to dedicate what I have decided to God. I have decided to evangelize, so I have to do it, I have to help out, and I have to serve the church faithfully. I was the head of the men’s and women’s associations, what kind of executive committee member, the choir member, the teacher, and I was in charge of the district. This is what it means to believe.
To believe means to serve loyally. I hope you become a believer.
The Lord Jesus Christ has come and has given these privileges to those who believe in his name, and those who do not keep the faith have no privileges. In order to enjoy this privilege, we must do our best to serve faithfully.
As Stevenson said, "The Saints are sinners who continue to repent."
To believe is to continue to repent. When you go to the bathroom, take a clean bath. However, even after a day or two, you will sweat, stain, and your body will become dirty. Because it is from the soil, dirt is constantly rising from the body.
Even inside the house, if you clean and wipe the spot again, dust will come on the mop and the same goes for the dishes. If you leave it alone, it keeps getting dusty. You need to keep taking care of it, cleaning it, and sweeping it to get a shiny shine. The same is true of our religious life. You have to keep tweaking it.
When it comes to driving a military vehicle, the saying 'Let's clean, tighten, and grease' seems like a lesson. It has to be cleaned, oiled, and tightened. Jesus is believing, not learning. The gospel is preached, not discussed. Worship is to worship, not to question. We pray that the great blessings of Christmas promised to those who believe in his name overflow to our members. Amen
