Let's do it to win
(1 Corinthians 9:24-27, 1 Peter 1:5-11)

(…) There is a growing voice calling for a repentance movement and a temperance movement to take place in this country. Lack of moderation results in the death of oneself and others as the car seems to have no brakes. What is abstinence? Temperance is patience and restraint. It is being patient, careful, abstaining, and prudent.(…) Then what should we be temperate?
① You must control your emotions.
(…) Proverbs 6:22 says, “He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his heart is better than he who takes a city.”(…) Cain killed Abel. Saul was jealous of David until his death, which made his family and his nation unhappy. Even the person who burned Sungnyemun could not control his emotions.
② You need to control what you see.
(…) Ecclesiastes 11:9, “Young man, rejoice in your youth, and rejoice in the days of your youth, and walk in the ways of your heart and in the sight of your eyes, but know that God will judge you for all these things. ” he says. We must be careful not to commit a crime by making a covenant with our eyes.(…) Computers are convenient machines, but if you misunderstand them, you will lose your mind and even your eyes. We must set up a cross on our eyes and always be temperate.
③ You must be restrained in your words.
You shouldn't say anything reckless just because you don't have a base. The silkworm builds a house with the thread that comes out of its mouth. In this way, the environment is created by the words of one's mouth.(…) Christians must be especially good at speaking. You have to say something to save people. Even if you hate it, if you say you love it, you will love it. If you speak well, you can evangelize the world. We should refrain from evil words and speak many words that save life.
④ Sexual desire must also be controlled.
The greatest depravity today can be called sexual morality. Obscenity and debauchery are open to all people of all ages, rich and poor. Cases of rape, human trafficking, and murder are getting worse.(…) A sociologist said that the crisis in Korea is not in the economy, but in sexual disorder.(…) The Bible says, “I urge you as strangers and passersby. Control the lusts of the flesh that fight against the soul.” Sexual desire should also be curbed.
⑤ You must control your thoughts.
(…) In Isaiah 55:7, it says, “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous let his thoughts, and let him turn to God!” God pays attention to what is at the center of our thoughts rather than the consequences of our actions. Society is chaotic because the devil is targeting the hearts of all our people.
It was June 2008. Candlelight protests against beef imports continue. Those who protest and those who block them must also be restrained. We must save the people's will to eat good beef, and we must also know that there is no economic recovery or prosperity in this country that does not produce a drop of oil and closes its doors. So, Christians should give this matter to God and pray. The people who are disciplined become successful. You win the spiritual battle. Get honor. If you have excellent temperance, you will be respected and loved. May God guard our hearts and minds... Amen.
