Tongues and Prophetic Prayer (Acts 2:1 - 13)
1. What is a dialect?
Praise God in spirit, and pray to God in spirit
The supernatural language is tongues, and it is entirely by the marvelous power of God.
The events or tongues that are made through it are related to the God who gives them
It is impossible without the collective effort or participation of the human beings who receive it.
God's will to give tongues and the earnest desire of man to receive the gift
When there is agreement, tongues appear.
Today's text contains a record of tongues that can be seen in the New Testament.
On the Day of Pentecost, the disciples gathered and while praying earnestly, they were filled with the Holy Spirit.
Through the work of the Holy Spirit, I began to speak in tongues.
The tongues spoken by the disciples were understood by many who had gathered there.
There are two main types of dialects: 1) Instead, dialects are directed toward God.
2) Interpersonal Dialect - Dialect towards humans
The main text belongs to the great dialects, and the dialects in 1 Corinthians 14 belong to the great dialects.
When Pastor Billy Graham went to the Soviet Union to evangelize, the interpretation was not good, so the message
It is frustrating because it is not delivered properly, so hold the microphone and pray
Through the work of God, he preached in tongues and gained many converts.
The dialects of the text are in the current languages of the world, and are intended for people from all over the world.
The content of the tongues is to show the great works of God, and even without an interpretation of the tongues
I understand, but when Peter is speaking, many people understand each other in their own words.
The purpose of interpersonal dialects is for evangelism and preaching, and as people understand
will be beneficial to the church.
The dialects of 1 Corinthians 14 are divided into the major dialects.
Instead of using the current language, the dialect is a spiritual language whose object is God.
Without an interpreter, it is incomprehensible, only self-education,
It is not virtuous for the church, but the purpose of the dialect is for prayer life.
There is a benefit that a person who could not pray can pray a lot through tongues.
When man himself cannot do it, he prays with the help of the Holy Spirit.
If you look up the word tongue in the Bible, it is expressed in several words.
drashon = words of the tongue, Yehudit = Jewish Aramid = Aramaic Rise = Gentile dialect
It is expressed in the Old Testament as safah = language, lips lishu = nations.
After all, in the Old Testament, tongues are 1) foreign languages 2) speeches spoken with the tongue or mouth
3) He speaks in a foreign language and has a different character from the expression of gifts in the New Testament.
In the New Testament, yes = speaking meaning of the tongue, dialectos = special language of the nation,
Lukaogisti = Lugaonian language hetologrosos = foreign language, which is expressed as
1) Local dialect 2) Other language 3) Language of tongue 4) Special language
is expressed (A word that is completely incomprehensible only to God)
Prayer in tongues is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12.
It is possible through human effort or training because it is a gift of the Holy Spirit.
Not all Christians get it, and it's for those who need it.
Praying in tongues as a gift from God
Through spiritual prayer with God, one's faith matures.
He edifies himself by speaking in tongues and becomes a sign to unbelievers.
Tongues are a gift from God, so we should rejoice and give thanks.
Contents of prayer in tongues
Without an interpreter, neither you nor others can understand.
The prayer in tongues is not a prayer to men, but a prayer that my spirit hears to God.
People cannot understand it, so a person with the gift of interpreting must interpret to understand.
Those who have received the gift of tongues
It is one of God's gifts and it is not special, so we should not be proud.
Special care should be taken to edify the church, and prayers should be made for interpretation.
Churches must be kept in order and orderly. Tongue without an interpreter is about people
It should not be done, and it should be temperamental when necessary for the virtue and order of the church.
Things to watch out for
We must remember and be careful that there are many opportunities for Satan to take advantage of those who have received the gift of speaking in tongues.
When the spiritual condition is not full, we must refrain from speaking in tongues so that Satan cannot take advantage of it.
We should not be consistent with only tongues, and false tongues from the subconscious
You must not speak a learned and trained dialect or a pagan dialect.
A person who interprets in a tongue does not always interpret, but only with the inspiration of God, so do not be deceived by a professional interpreter.
2. Prayer in tongues
You must pray aloud, and you must speak with your lips and tongue.
We must believe that He will give us tongues and pray boldly out loud.
Doubting or hesitating is like Peter sitting still in the boat.
Once the dialect begins, continue until it becomes natural, but without being too self-conscious,
You should not even doubt it, but Satan makes you doubt in tongues.
You must have faith that if you ask God, He will give you good things and not false things.
Some people are fluent from the start, others become a single word or a single syllable.
You become fluent when you simply rely on the Lord for everything.
The gift of tongues is the beginning, not the final stage of the Christian life.
If you speak in tongues
1) Be careful not to talk chatter to anyone
2) You must be patient and wait until the Holy Spirit uses the Gospel as a witness.
3) You must not act rashly to try to change the church.
4) Be careful and do not forget to testify about the Holy Spirit
5) Do not testify of me, but strive to testify of Jesus Christ.
6) To be filled with the Holy Spirit, we must continue to receive grace and supplement it. -recharge-
Longing for gifts only for the glory of God, and making good use of the gifts you have received.
We must give glory to God.
3. Prophetic Prayer
Characteristics of prophecy = by the authority of God, centered on Christ, taught and revealed
It must be done, and it must not be solved by humans, and God's will must be communicated directly.
Prophecy is given for the benefit of men, and is made by the Spirit of God.
It is necessary for the edification, admonition, and comfort of the church.
Prophecy must be judged whether it is correct in the light of the Bible, the Word of God.
Prophecy professionally, or prophesy without discernment of the Word,
Prophetic prayer without edifying the church, prophesying prayer according to one's own will,
You should be wary of prophesying in the way of fortune-telling as a tool for your own desires
You must not prophesy without the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, you must not try to know God's will through prophetic prayer, and you must not prophesy by force. 1991.4.10.Demand
