Title: Too Busy Not to Pray
1 Samuel 12:23 says, “I have never sinned before the Lord in ceasing to pray for you.” Job 21:15 says, “Who is the Almighty, that we should serve and pray to him?”
In today's text 1 Samuel 1:26-2:1, Hannah, the wife of Elkanah, an Ephraimite (a person living in Ephraim) in Ramadaim-zophim, in the mountainous region of Ephraim, suffers for a child. Hannah is loved but lives a fringe life with no children. Peninnah (fertility) is unloved, but has fertility. Why does suffering come to the righteous? There is God's plan to establish us as God's people through suffering and allow us to experience the work of answers.
How could Hannah overcome this pain?
First, restore dialogue with God! As Hannah prayed in verse 26, “My Lord!” (My master), by your life! (The Lord lives), my lord by your side (God is with you)! was restored.
Second, prayer is working with God. (Work with God!) In verse 27, “I prayed for this child, and the Lord granted me what I asked for.” Hannah prays and God answers. .
Third, in verse 27, “I prayed for this child” and has a clear prayer topic, childbirth.
