Content Touch of Faith (Mark 5:21-34) Author: Dong2 Registration Date: 2003-12-16 19:02:26 , Views: 78 , Comment: 0 , Recommendation: 0 A world of sickness and death, with a child dying and a woman suffering from illness for twelve years. Jesus is the Savior who came into this world to save mankind from disease and death. In particular, Mark vividly testifies that Jesus is the Lord who rebukes the wind, calms the sea, and rules nature, drives out military demons and rules the spirit world, and controls disease and death.
When Jesus returned to Capernaum, Jairus, the leader of the synagogue, fell down at Jesus' feet and begged him to spare his dying daughter. Hearing the sighs of his father who was agonizing over the death of his daughter, he was on his way to Jairus's house, when something unexpected happened. An incident occurred when a woman, who had suffered from bleeding for 12 years, touched Jesus' clothes and was saved.
1. A woman suffering from hemorrhage for 12 years
1) What is hemorrhage?
It is a disease that bleeds, and it is called a bleed disease in Leviticus 15. It is bleeding as a uterine tumor or gonorrhea. This type of disease is an unclean disease, and one had to live in isolation from society, access to the temple was forbidden, and he could not attend synagogue services. It was a life of complete social and religious alienation.
2) It had no effect and was rather severe.
I've been ill for 12 years, so I've tried all the medicines that said it's okay to go to the Yong-ha clinic. He wasted his wealth and had no effect, and his illness was worse, and he was now living in despair, waiting only for death. This woman was completely alienated physically, economically and socially.
3) She was a woman who lived in despair and alienation.
The apocryphal woman named Veronica a socially alienated being who had to be turned away from her beloved husband by her children, who waited for death without any hope of treatment. When Jesus was walking up Golgotha Hill carrying the cross, he ran out of the crowd and wiped his bloody and sweaty face with a handkerchief. Jesus is the Savior who came to save people who groan in the agony of sickness and death.
2. Touch of Faith
1) Hearing the news of Jesus
A glimmer of hope came to the poor woman who was groaning in despair. It was the rumor of Jesus of Nazareth. After losing both health and wealth, I heard rumors that the end of man is the beginning of God. To be saved, you must hear and believe (John 5:24). It was hearing the news of Jesus that changed the fate of the poor woman. The gospel of Jesus is the gospel.
2) touch his clothes
The poor woman could not stand before the Lord proudly. Neither custom nor law permitted it. But the woman mixed with the crowd and gently touched Jesus' clothes from behind. It wasn't just hoping for a good luck, but it was touched with the belief that even if he touched his clothes, he would be saved. just don't hit it You have to put your hand in faith.
3) Touch of Faith
Faith works through the connection (touch) with Jesus. Just as a light cannot be turned on if it is not connected no matter how high-voltage lines flow, you can only experience presence, ability, and experience only if you have a touch of faith. So how can we do a touch of faith? Even today, we reach out to him with the hand of faith through worship. Don't just come and go and go back. Worshiping the faithful Lord and touching the hem of the Lord's robe with the hands of faith should be worship. We can also connect to the Lord through prayer. You can touch it through the Bible and hold hands through service. Are you really touching with faith? Are you connected to Jesus? Faith refers to the state of being touched.
3. Go in peace
1) Who touched my clothes?
As soon as the woman touched the edge of Jesus' robe, Jesus immediately knew that the power had gone out of him, and said from the crowd, "Who touched my clothes?" Peter said in an annoyed voice, 'Lord, isn't the crowd surrounding and pushing you? Someone from the crowd must have touched it.' But the Lord was looking for the woman he touched.
2) Woman's Confession of Faith
Knowing that she could not hide herself, the woman fell down before the Lord, trembling in fear and confessing everything. Through the Lord's questioning, the woman's faith became a public confession of faith. The Lord wants our faith to be a public confession. When it comes to public confession, it strengthens faith, becomes part of the community, and brings glory to God.
3) He proclaimed salvation.
The real reason why he turned and asked the woman and accepted the woman's confession of faith is that he might offer salvation. 'Daughter, your faith has saved you; go in peace, and be healed of your sickness.' He called, daughter, expressing deep affection, acknowledging the woman's faith, and proclaiming salvation and shalom.
Jesus is the wounded healer and savior to bring salvation and shalom to mankind who groan in despair and alienation.
