The reason Christians are reviled by the world is because they lack a life of godliness. The monks at the temple also practice self-control and cultivating the Way for the training of godliness. We are people who have already mastered the Tao. The way is the way of Jehovah, the covenant with blood, the way of life, my way, the way of the cross, the way of faith, the gospel of the kingdom, the way of believing, the way of Christ. As Christianity focuses on evangelism and seeks only grace, training in godliness is actually insufficient. The word godliness appears 57 times in the Bible. Then what is godliness?
1. Dictionary etymology
□ Respect (敬虔) Respect;虔 Seong-Gun; - A heart of sincere respect. It means to honor and serve God by dedicating body and mind to God.
□ Similar to holy. Holiness is the state of being set apart, holy, free from filth and error. Also, the word holy was used only in relation to God. A godly life is also called holy.
2. Background
'A poem of David, a song tuned to the strings as a warrant.' The word 'warrant' here literally means 'manager or supervisor', meaning the conductor or canor of a choir, and is mentioned 55 times throughout the psalms (Kay). It is not an exaggeration to say that this psalm is a prayer for the evening hours, paired with Psalm 3, nicknamed 'Morning Prayer'. 3. What is David's piety?
I pray, O God of my righteousness, answer me when I call. I pray that you have mercy on me and hear my prayer, for you have been generous to me in my troubles.

▶ In David's psalm, God hears the prayers of the godly. Of course, He hears even when sinners repent and weep. However, the life of a sinner whose sins are forgiven through repentance is the life of a godly person.
A heart of sincere respect. When we dedicate our body and mind to God and live a life of honor and service, God responds. Therefore, when our lives are always lived with a sincere heart, a heart that loves God, and a heart that honors God, He hears our prayers well. Godliness is a life free from crime. Religion is being careful with words. Godliness is offering righteous sacrifices. Godliness is trusting in the Lord.
1 Timothy 4:7 Let go of false and false myths and practice only godliness
1 Timothy 4:8 Physical exercise is of little benefit, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise in this life and in the life to come.
1 Timothy 4:9 Faithful, this saying is deserving of all men.

3. The joy you put in my heart is godliness.

Psalm 4:6 Many say, “Who is it that will show us good? Lift up your face, O LORD, and let it shine upon us.”
But David refutes the words of this wicked man.
Psalm 4:7 You have put more joy in my heart than when their grain and new wine abound.
Psalm 4:8 I will lie down in peace, and I will sleep; it is the LORD who makes me dwell in safety.
