Title: Training of God! (Deuteronomy 8:1-10)
A person matures through education and training. You can tell just by looking at how young men go to the army and become dignified men. Therefore, I think that training is necessary even to become a good believer. Training is also required to become a spiritual person, a person of faith that is recognized by God and people. In that sense, today's Bible verse explains how God trained the Israelites to become God's people.
Then, what was the training necessary for the Israelites during the 40 years of training in the wilderness? What personality elements were the people of Israel during the training period? is to do
The first is training to become a free citizen.
Second, it is training as God's chosen people.
Third, it is training to become the master of the land of Canaan.
There was a training course from God to train the Israelites. In other words, what kind of person can truly become God's chosen people and the owner of the land of Canaan? There were three subjects of training.
1. It is a discipline of humility.
2-“Remember that the LORD your God made you walk in the wilderness these forty years, because he humbles you and tests you, to know what your heart is, whether you keep his commandments or keep them.” 3-“He humbles you and makes you hungry”
In a nutshell, this was a training to become a humble person who knows how to humble himself. Because you have to be humble to become a man of God.
God loves people who are well trained in humility, and makes such a person the main character of Canaan. A proud person cannot be the hero of heaven.
Therefore, the humble need no tears, no pain, no lamentation, no trials. I pray that you will become humble saints who can humble themselves.
2. It is training to be grateful.
3-“He humbled you and made you hungry, and fed you with manna, which you did not know, neither did your fathers know, so that you might know that man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.”
The reason why he allowed them to walk in the wilderness for 40 years and add to the pain of hunger was to train them to know how to be satisfied and to be thankful.
Moses was the man who realized that the food of the flesh could not satisfy man.
3-“I gave you manna so that you might know that man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.”
Please have a grateful faith. And I hope you live a life that you can be satisfied with. God tells us to give thanks, to give thanks in everything. I pray that you will become grateful for living by the word in God.
3. It is training to praise.
10-“You will eat and be satisfied, and you will praise the LORD your God for giving you good soil.”
That is, the ultimate purpose of God's strong training is . It is to glorify God through praise. Praise, not vague praise, not praise on the lips, but truly praise.
This should be the conclusion of your life as a child of God and me. So far, they have been tormented in the wilderness for 40 years. There was no water, there was no food to eat, and they had to fall into pain and anxiety. But this was God's training for me. It was God's plan to make my life fertile and give me abundant grace and blessings. Please believe so.
