Title: Tree of Life
Contents There was a “tree of life” in the Garden of Eden. The tree of life is an evergreen tree that bears fruit every month, and its leaves are a tree that heals all nations (Revelation 22:2). People of faith lived in a relationship with the tree of life.
?? Abraham planted an ash tree.
“Abraham planted an ash tree in Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the Lord God, who lives forever” (Genesis 21:33). “Ezer” means “help”. At the age of 75, Abraham was called by God and left his hometown of Ur of the Chaldeans. Despite the anxiety and fear of losing my life, I believed in God and headed toward the promised land.
He went down to Egypt because of the famine and was in danger of having his wife taken away, but when he came out of Egypt, silver, gold, and livestock were abundant (Gen. 13:1-2). God helped him. God's people act in fear. You have to act to get it. Wherever Abraham went, he built an altar and called on the name of the Lord. Like Abraham, call on the name of the Lord and live in abundance with God's help.
?? Noah built the ark out of cypress wood.
Noah obeyed the word of God. “You shall build an ark of cypress wood for yourself, and seal the livers in it, and paint the inside and the outside with bitumen” (Genesis 6:14). The pine tree is the tree of life. The fact that the cypress tree is the tree of life is that it was used as a timber to build the ark.
Noah and his family were saved through the ark built of cypress wood. In God's work of salvation from the judgment of water, the cypress tree became the tree of life that guarantees life and salvation. The ark is the ship of salvation and the prototype of the church. You must come into the church. Like Noah and his family, who were saved by building an ark out of cypress wood and entering the ark, we too must be saved in Jesus.
?? Moses received his vocation in front of the bush.
The bush is the tree of life related to Moses. As Moses was leading the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, he came to Horeb, the mountain of God, and an angel of the Lord appeared to him from the flames of a bush. He saw that the bush was on fire, but it did not go away (Exodus 3:2). The fire burning on the bush represents the presence of God. Moses heard the voice of God in front of the bush. “I will send you to Pharaoh to bring the children of Israel out of Egypt to me” (Exodus 3:10). The bush made Moses a passionate liberator. Let's become a church where the fire of God is kindled in our hearts and the passion of the gospel is kindled.
?? Nathanael was found by the Lord under the fig tree.
The fig tree is a symbol of Israel. The fruitfulness of figs represents Israel's abundance. The lack of fruit represents desolation and wretchedness. Nathanael was under the fig tree. The Lord saw him praying for the restoration of the nation of Israel. When Jesus saw Nathanael coming, he said to him, “Behold, this is a true Israelite, and there is no deceit in him” (John 1:47) Nathanael stood out to the Lord under the fig tree. I heard that you are a true Israeli. Nathanael soon became a disciple of Jesus and was called Bartholomew, and became a true Christian who went to India to preach the gospel. Let us all live and bear abundant fruit as true Christians who preach the gospel.
