tree planted by the river
Psalm 1:1-6
1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers.
2 But those who delight in the law of the LORD, and meditate on it day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither.
4 The wicked are not so; but they are like chaff that the wind blows.
5 Therefore the wicked shall not stand judgment, nor shall the sinner be in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the way of the righteous is approved by the LORD, but the way of the wicked will be destroyed.
This year's motto of our Maeil Church is a tree planted by a stream.
It's the same church.
A blessed person is like a tree planted by a stream.
What kind of life is a life planted by a stream?
1. It is a different life from the wicked- The wicked are like chaff that the wind blows, and later they gather and burn.
2. Lives a life where the leaves do not dry out The leaves are always green and lush, and eventually fruits are produced from overnutrition - but without water, the leaves dry out.
3, Enjoy the Word - Think of the Word, obey the Word and put it into practice
4. All events become a prosperous life if the leaves do not dry up they go to fruit. You can tell by looking at the leaves. You know when you pretend. It should not be gloomy. You can see it with your eyes. A life in which the Word is supplied is the tree planted by the stream.
It does not mean that I prosper. Water must come up and be supplied. Therefore, a tree planted by a stream is a blessed tree, that is, a person who is blessed.
Prosperous blessings come only when you trust in God and God is with you.
Joseph became a prosperous man -
Genesis 39:2-3
2 The LORD was with Joseph, and he prospered, and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
3 And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and he saw that the LORD prospered in all things.
God taught Joshua how to prosper and how to plant by the water.
Joshua 1:8-8 Do not let this book of the law depart from your mouth, but meditate on it day and night, and observe all that is written in it, so that you may prosper, and your way will be smooth.
Along with Psalm 1, there is a text to look at.
Jeremiah 17:5-8
5 This is what the LORD says: Cursed is everyone who believes in a person, and who makes flesh his power and his heart turns from the LORD
6 He will be like a bush in the desert; he will not see any good things coming; he will dwell in the wilderness, in low tide, in dry land, in a land uninhabited.
7 But everyone who trusts in the LORD and trusts in the LORD will be blessed.
8 He will be like a tree planted by the waters, which stretches out its roots by the river, and does not fear when the heat comes; its leaves are green, and there is no worry in the year of drought, and it does not cease to bear fruit.
Compare Jeremiah 17:5-8 - What are the roots of the river? - Put your thoughts in the river of the Word. It depends on where you put your thoughts. When the roots are stretched along the river, even if the stems or leaves on the roots suffer from the pain of hot drought and scorching sun, instead of drying out, more water is supplied to the roots.
It is supplied with power that transcends the environment. Meditation is just that
Paul speaks of this in Romans:
The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit (meditation) is life and peace. Blessings and curses come from thoughts. Therefore, the blessed thought is meditation on the Word.
Romans 8:5-8
5 Those who are after the flesh care about the things of the flesh, but those who are after the Spirit think about the things of the Spirit.
6 The mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace.
7 The carnal mind is hostile to God, for it does not submit to the law of God, nor can it do so.
8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
Philippians 4:8
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are godly, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are commendable, if there be any virtue, if there is any praise, think of these things.
It is meditation on the Word to say that it is planted by a stream by the water.
It is the mind of the spirit. That way, it will bear fruit even in the heat and drought and the fruit will not end.
Blessed is the man planted by the stream. He will eventually prosper. He doesn't think physically. I think spiritually in the Holy Spirit. despair. Don't be discouraged.
May you become a planted tree by the stream,
2 But those who delight in the law of the LORD, and meditate on it day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither; all its events prosper.
