Title: Trial of Faith
Contents
Because the Lord Jesus is the Son of God in the spirit and the Son of Man from the line of David according to the flesh, he had many trials while he was in the flesh. Therefore, "...Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil, and after fasting forty days and forty days, he became hungry. The tempter came to Jesus and said, "If you are the Son of God, command that these stones Let them become.” (Matthew 4:1-3) He went through the ordeal.
Regarding this, the Bible testifies, "It is fitting that the Lord of their salvation should be perfected through suffering, to bring many sons to glory, of all things and of all things" (Hebrews 2:10). He further testifies that while he was in the flesh he offered up supplications and supplications with loud cries and tears to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence” (Hebrews 5:7).
This was the first trial to fulfill God's will to remove blood and flesh from the Son of God through Christ Jesus. So, concerning Christ Jesus, the Bible says, “Therefore, says the Lord GOD, Behold, I have laid a stone in Zion, as a foundation, a stone of trial, a precious and strong foundation stone; whoever believes in it will not be in a hurry” (Isaiah 28:16). ) was testified by Isaiah.
After going through all this arduous ordeal to remove blood and flesh, He triumphed on the cross and testified, "After receiving the sour wine, Jesus said, It is finished. He bowed his head and died" (John 19:30).
Likewise, those of Christ Jesus who believe in Christ Jesus must go through the same trials of faith. The way through this trial is the way of the cross. Therefore, the Bible testifies, “If children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, for we must suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him” (Romans 8:17).
Without the trial of faith, we cannot share in the patience of Christ. It is the same as the evidence that “May the Lord guide your hearts into the love of God and the patience of Christ” (2 Thessalonians 3:5). becomes For this reason, the Bible testifies, "...we rejoice in tribulation, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance, endurance produces character, and character produces hope" (Romans 5:3-4).
Regarding this, the Bible testifies, “But he knows the way I go; and after he has tried me I will come out as gold” (Job 23:10), and also, “For you do not know that the trial of your faith produces patience. knowledge” (James 1:3), and “so that the trial of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes, even though it is tried by fire, may be found to praise, glory, and honor at the appearing of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1). :7) proves that.
All of God's children belong to flesh and blood, so the trial of faith in controlling flesh and blood must be in everyone. It is written, “Children are of flesh and blood, and he also belongs to flesh and blood in one way, to put away those who have taken over the power of death through death, the devil, and all those who are in bondage through life because they fear death. to release him, not really to sustain the angels, but to sustain the descendants of Abraham” (Hebrews 2:14-16).
This trial of faith is like a trial in which God made Israel go through the wilderness and wiped out all the old people. It is written, “Remember that the LORD your God made you walk in the wilderness these forty years, because he humbles you and tests you, that you may know what your heart is, whether you keep his commandments or keep them” (Deuteronomy 8:2). ), and also, “We know that our old self was crucified with Jesus so that the body of sin might be destroyed, and that we would no longer be enslaved to sin, because the dead have been set free from sin. It is the same as the words of the testimony of God” (Romans 6:6-7).
Now, many people hate the trial of the faith that controls flesh and blood, so they are heading towards the wide gate and the smooth road. But the little flock who are conformed to the image of Christ Jesus are rejoicing in hope, thankful for the trials of faith wherever the Lamb leads them. For this reason, it is written, “For the gate is narrow and the way is cramped that leads into life, and few find it” (Matthew 7:14), and also, “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father is pleased to give you the kingdom” (Matthew 7:14). Luke 12:32), the Lord Jesus Himself testified.
Therefore, all those who go through the trial of faith testify together, saying, "...We do not lose heart, for though our outward man is perishing, but our inward man is being renewed day by day" (2 Corinthians 4:16).
“If we do not have you, we are illegitimate children, and we are not true sons, and our fathers in our flesh revered us when they disciplined us. As we have been disciplined, but God makes us partakers of his holiness for our benefit. Any discipline at the time does not seem joyful, but sad, but to those who have been trained by it afterward, it produces the peaceful fruit of righteousness. Lift up your feeble knees and make straight paths for your feet, so that your lame legs may be healed and not broken.” (Hebrews 12:8-13) Amen, thank you Lord.
