Title: Trials and Hope of Salvation

1 Peter 1:3-12: Trials and Hope of Salvation Topic: 11. Salvation. 2007. 10. 28.

Introduction: How not to be shaken in the midst of suffering: Knowing that you are saved. (1-12)

1. The believer's hope (3~5)

2. The Significance of Trials and Tests (6~9)

3. The greatness of salvation (10-12)

1. The believer's hope (3~5)

The source of hope is God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The believer's hope for eternal life is alive, active, and working in him right now.

This is the glorious hope of believers. In other words, it is a living hope to face God and live forever.

One). A living hope comes from the mercy of God.

Man has only one hope because of sin.

The hope is that God will have mercy on him.

2). The living hope comes because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

① He proved that God has the power to raise the dead.

② Because Jesus is the Savior, God raised Him to life.

③ Jesus is a perfect and ideal man who lived without sin while on earth.

If we are in Christ, that is, if we truly believe in Christ, God can include us in Christ's ideal resurrection.

3). Living hope comes from being born again.

Unless a person is born again by the Holy Spirit, there is no hope for eternal life. Therefore, a person must be born again and become a new person before he can live forever.

2. The Significance of Trials and Tests (6~9)

One). You should know that life is full of trials and trials. (6)

All of life's trials and tests are only temporary. ② It makes us worry. (Anguish, wandering, meeting)

2). You must know the purpose of trials and temptations. (7)

The Bible explains the reasons for the trials and temptations of believers as follows.

① The believer's faith must be refined.

* God uses fiery trials and temptations for good purposes. God cleanses us

He uses trials and temptations to build more trust in God.

② Believers receive refinement so that they may receive praise, honor, and glory from Jesus Christ and those who believe.

When Jesus comes again, you will see the image (rapture).

3). You must know how to overcome trials and temptations. (8~9)

We must not let the trials and trials of life defeat or discourage us.

How do you win when trials and trials are so destructive, powerful, damaging, and threatening?

① We must overcome through our love for Jesus Christ.

* By loving Him, we must obey, keep His commandments, overcome temptations, and overcome trials.

② We must overcome through faith in Jesus Christ.

* We must rely on His presence and power to overcome and pass through every trial.

③ We must overcome with indescribable joy and joy. (* You can do it in his presence.)

④ We must overcome by continuing to focus on saving souls. (* Salvation is our final goal and destination)

3 The greatness of salvation (10-12)

Explain the fact that God saves humans and lifts them up to heavenly glory.

One). Special prophets were needed for the message of salvation to be proclaimed. (10)

The Prophet: ① Declaring God’s salvation to mankind

② It is to prophesy how God will save mankind.

2). Salvation is a personal experience of God's grace. (10)

God's grace is salvation, the only grace that allows us to live forever.

3). Salvation is a mystery. (11)

Even the prophets did not know it. In particular, they did not know when the Messiah would come to this earth.

4). Salvation comes through the suffering and glory of the Messiah. (11)

The Holy Spirit gives the prophets

① He was sent into the world to die for human sins.

② To raise the Messiah from the dead and to exalt the throne of God.

5). Salvation was for everyone. (12)

Because the time of salvation is coming, God sent his son as a descendant of a woman to save all mankind.

If you reject salvation, there is no excuse before God's judgment seat.

6). Salvation is now proclaimed in the gospel. (12)

The gospel is those who believe in Jesus Christ.

① God counts us as the righteousness of Jesus Christ.

② God considers us already dead in the death of Jesus Christ.

7). Salvation is so glorious that the angels want to see it. (12)

Angels cannot experience salvation because they belong to the spiritual world. But seeing the wonderful and glorious works of God will make you fall in awe.
