Title: Tribulation for Faith
Matthew 10:34-36'34. Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the world, 35 I have come to bring a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law 36. A man's enemy is his own. Family members'- Amen.
Christians are persecuted when they live with unbelievers or with members of other religions. When we are faced with such difficulties, we must be patient, remembering the Lord's lessons, comfort, and covenant. I would like to share a sermon with the title of <Tribulation Caused by Faith>.
1. Persecution is the work of Satan
Many Christians come to church to feel comfortable and receive blessings, but Jesus foretells that if they believe in Him, there will be more trouble than peace and happiness.
Text, Matthew 10:34 “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the world; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword, 36. A man’s enemies are the members of his household.”
Then why does the world hate and persecute you if you believe in the Lord of peace and the Lord of life? You need to know this biblically properly.
You don't know how angry and angry the devil was to kill Jesus from the day God wanted to bring His Son Jesus into this world to save us sinners. The devil persecutes those who want to receive the atonement by believing in Jesus so that they do not believe, and he will torment them until the last day of the world.
Therefore, in order to have the Christian faith properly, we must know together that the spiritual world exists. Therefore, since Christians must live with the knowledge of the spiritual and spiritual senses, they must earnestly realize the truth, and they must diligently practice their prayer life knowing that prayer life is essential.
2. Persecution is evidence of faith
If you go to church without any persecution or conflict after becoming a believer, you have a problem with your soul. Because when you are born again by the Holy Spirit, the truth is placed in you, and your value ideology is changed to a new existence, Satan will not let you go.
If you are reviled or persecuted after believing in Jesus, it is a sign that the believer has proper faith. It is the fact that we are normal saints because the Holy Spirit dwells in us and the truth is claimed. Therefore, persecution is more precious than being persecuted.
When you are persecuted, Luke 21:13 says, “In fact, these things will be a witness to you.”
When Stephen was preaching the gospel, Acts 7:54 said, “When they heard this, they were pierced in their hearts and gnawed their teeth at him.” If we speak and live according to the gospel, it is normal to receive such hatred from the world.
If we are hated and persecuted because we believe in Christ, it is proof that we have truly become children of God.
John 15:19 “...the world hates you, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.”
However, when difficulties arise, we must not say that it is because of faith.
1 Peter 2:19-21 ‘19. It is beautiful if you endure sorrow by thinking of God even when you suffer vaguely, 20. What praise is there if you endure being beaten for a sin...21. …Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.”
3. Suffering is the prelude to blessing
The hardships and persecutions that come because of our faith are proof that we have become the Lord's people, and at the same time, he promised that persecution would be replaced with blessings.
Mark 10:30 “There is no one who will not receive a hundredfold in this present time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecution, and in the age to come eternal life.”
1 Peter 4:14 “If you are reviled in the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory, the Spirit of God, rests on you.”
When Jesus died and was resurrected, the authority of Satan (the devil), expressed as the ruler of this world, was completely broken.
John 16:11 "...for the king of this world is judged"
1 John 3:8 “... the Son of God appeared to destroy the works of the devil.”
Because of this, believers who believe in the Lord can now rely on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, hold on to the Bible truth of the covenant, and overcome Satan's curse.
John 16:33 “...in the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
The specific method is to confess according to the Bible from the first words, and to speak the truth of the Bible openly and directly. Because the Bible is already the truth, the world has been reformed with the Bible, and the history of Christianity has certainly made the history of the Bible, those who still speak the truth of the Bible and practice it can be victorious.
Ephesians 6:11 “Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist the schemes of the devil.” 17, “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
Do you really want to receive grace through your Christian faith?
Then, when tribulation and persecution come, thank you for becoming a true Christian. And you must remember that the blessing you will receive through faith is the prelude to the death of the cross.
Suffering and adversity are opportunities for us to become more dependent on the Lord.
In order to practice God's holy commandments and God's love, we sometimes have to sacrifice our lives. I pray that you and I will be able to receive and enjoy the grace of God who will surely repay you by looking to the Lord, praying, and persevering in times of tribulation, persecution, difficulties, and tiring things. *
