Title: True Christian Church Service (Philippians 3:1~4)

Contents

In contrast to verse 2, “Beware of false prophets,” this verse teaches what the religious service of true servants is.

First, it is to serve by the Spirit of God.

① When you are faithful to the church, you must serve with the Holy Spirit of God. ② This is because church service suits one's feelings, so he is loyal because it suits his feelings, and if it does not suit his feelings, he is not loyal, and this should not be the case. ③ Since you are serving with the Spirit of God, this is not the will of flesh or blood, nor the will of man, but the will of God, and you must be faithful to the church. ④ If it is this kind of loyalty, it is possible to be loyal with that loyalty that does not end. ⑤ Some people have been loyal to the church for a while, but they become like children and suddenly stop being loyal and stop serving. That is why there are many such ministers who do not serve according to the Spirit, but according to the flesh. The church is experiencing problems through these people. ⑥ Therefore, as believers serve in any field of the church, they must do it only through the Holy Spirit.

Second, we must boast in Christ Jesus.

①When I do general or special work in the church, “I did it.” I do not know how strongly this “I, I, I” that I have always done while doing all the work comes out. This is not pleasing to God. ②Then how should I say it, the Holy Spirit of God was holding on to me! That is why we must serve by boasting about Jesus Christ. ③ Even after serving, you must say, “It is the grace of the Lord.” ④ It must be loyalty that shows Jesus Christ, not self. ⑤ Our loyalty is the loyalty that shows the Lord, so we cannot have the wrong idea that we should be treated while being loyal. ⑥ Because we keep boasting only of Jesus Christ, we cannot brag about ourselves or be proud of ourselves. ⑦ Therefore, I hope that you will be proud of only Jesus Christ even if you serve and be loyal.

Third, do not trust the body.

① A person who trusts the body if he reveals his knowledge and means. ②I keep revealing the worldly things in this world, so I studied this much, but I am a person who secretly brags about his fleshly elements in his service and loyalty. ③However, there are different kinds of pride in the church. (2 Corinthians 11) ④There are people who boast about their bodies, there are people who boast about being sanctified by Christ, and there are people who boast about their weaknesses. Among these, those who boast in the flesh are described in the Bible as foolish and crazy boasting. ⑤ All things to be proud of were given by God, but he is a fool because he thinks he has made himself. ⑥ More than this, we should be proud of being like Jesus Christ. ⑦ A better way to brag is to show off what you lack. When I boast about what I lack, when I am weak, I am strong. It is the Holy Spirit who works in me when I am weak.
