Title/ True Faith Not in vain
Text/ 1 Corinthians 15:1-14
A tiger and a rabbit are talking.
First the rabbit to the tiger
"I like you. Seeing that everyone turns out of the way when you pass by and treats you like a king by bowing their heads, I wish to live like you too."
The tiger speaks loudly to the rabbit.
"Hey nigga, when the gunner comes, will you shoot me? Will you shoot me?"
No matter how splendid and perfect a person may appear, he will still have troubles, pain, and problems. Just as a person of faith cannot enter Canaan unless he passes through the wilderness, in order to become a successful person, one must not ignore the successful person.
“If you hold fast to the word I have preached, and have not believed in vain, then you will be saved by him” verse 2
1, Without the resurrection, my faith is in vain. Verses 12-14
If Christianity is a factory of production, the best product is resurrection.
(John 5:25) “Truly, truly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and the hour is when the dead will hear the voice of God, and those who hear will live.”
(John 5:28) “Do not marvel at this, for the hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice.”
Ex) - The death and funeral of a believer is sad to have to be separated for a while, but it is not an eternal parting.
(Ezekiel 37:12-13) “My people, I will open your graves and bring you out of them, and you will know that I am the Lord.”
The first dead will hear the voice of God and come out of the tomb on the day of the second coming of Jesus. (Isaiah 26:19) “The Lord's dead will rise, and our bodies will rise. The dew is the shining dew, and the earth will give up the dead.”
Jesus commands the dead, stinky corpse of Lazarus.
I am the resurrection and the life, come out Lazarus (John 11:25-43)
2, Faith that does not work for the Lord is vain. verse 58
“Be more diligent in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
Faith grows healthier and more mature through working in the Lord.
(James 2:22) “Behold, faith works together with his works, and by works faith is made complete.”
The Apostle Paul also says that he is doing his best so that the grace he has given him is not in vain.
(1 Corinthians 15:10) “But it is by the grace of God that I am what I am, and his grace that was given to me was not in vain.
If we remember that Saul's appearance at the time of Stephen's martyrdom was such as "threatening and life-threatening," the person who persecutes me today can become a servant of the Lord.
If there is someone around us who persecutes me, that person is the object of the blessing bestowed upon you.
Let's preach
We find rest in heaven because of what we have worked for. (Rev 14:13)
3, If my name is not in the book of life, faith is futile. verse 2
“For by this you will be saved, if you hold fast to the words I have preached and have not believed in vain.”
There is a great white throne in the kingdom of heaven where I will enter, and the books (the book of life, the book of works, the book of remembrance) are open before God who is seated on the throne.
(Rev 20:11-15)“ The Book of Life> The genealogy of the kingdom of heaven / The names of believers are recorded
Book of conduct> Life record / Everyone is recorded, (the deeds of the wicked and the good) (Mal 3:16)
Commemorative book> Record a special event / Special prize (eg / temple construction, martyrdom, etc.)
The Apostle Paul introduces those who share the yoke for the sake of the gospel and encourages them to participate in the Lord's work as their names are written in the book of life and to write their names in the genealogy clearly.
How can I make sure my name is recorded in the heavenly genealogy?
(Philippians 4:3) “And I beg you, a yoke-fellow with me, help those women who labored with me in the gospel, and also help Clement and other fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.”
If we work together on the gospel, we will go to heaven.
