Title: True Hope/Romans 8:18-25
Content I. Makes you live with the future in mind (18)
A person without hope is a dead person. The reason people can be human is because they have hope. Moreover, hope enables us to see not only the reality of the present life, but also the eternal glory we will enjoy in the future. Therefore, hope leads to a future-oriented life rather than a reality-oriented one.
Moreover, hope makes it possible to discern which life is more precious and valuable, and to live in anticipation of it. As a result, we let them live with dreams and visions for the glory they will receive in the future in real life.
Hope doesn't just make me think about the hardships or pains I'm experiencing right now, but it makes me think and look at things that are more precious and valuable while living in the present.
II. Brings Courage to Life (19-23)
As creatures, it is easy for us people to live a life of groaning and suffering along with much of the world. But hope gives us the courage to fight and overcome all these situations and live a victorious life. If there is no hope, we will have no choice but to lead a life of resignation or giving up.
However, because there is hope, we can fight and overcome futile things. Because there is hope, we are not enslaved to corruption, but we are freed from it, and we can enjoy true freedom and live. It is also to enable us to live a life of joy and glory, free from the life of groaning and suffering because of hope.
In this way, true hope is the foundation and foundation for our courage in life.
III. Makes you hope for what you do not see (24-25)
A visible hope is a worldly wish that you want to achieve while you live in this world. It is not easy to achieve this worldly hope completely in your own reality. Even if that wish has come true, you cannot enjoy true satisfaction.
Therefore, those who are saved must live with an invisible hope. The invisible hope is the eternal hope that can be obtained through Jesus Christ. This is a spiritual thing that God has prepared for us. In order to realize this invisible spiritual hope, we must completely cast our hearts and souls on God, who is hope itself, through Jesus Christ, who is the anchor of our souls.
And you have to wait patiently.
