Title: True leaders of the Bible, shepherd leaders

* The Shepherd Leadership
★ Bible: John 1:118
The correct biblical concept of faith in God is to understand God through the King, Father, and Shepherd. Jesus realized that the heart of God the Father is the heart of a shepherd.
Born as the son of Joseph, who was a carpenter, Jesus lost his father early and inherited his father's family business to make wooden tools like a yoke, but he understood God as a shepherd and called himself a good shepherd.
Joseph, who became the prime minister of Egypt, was also a shepherd. Moses, the leader of the Exodus, came from a prince who had been educated for 40 years in Pharaoh's palace, but he experienced a shepherd life and shepherd training for 40 years in the wilderness.
David, the king of unified Israel, was also chosen while working as a shepherd. Through Psalm 23, he made a famous confession of faith, “The Lord is my shepherd.”
Therefore, the shepherd has an important leadership secret, which is called The Shepherd Leadership.
As Jesus himself did, even if you don't live as a shepherd yourself, you can learn the shepherd's duty through the words and deeds of Jesus. In particular, in John 10:1-18, Jesus revealed the secret to the true shepherd and the good shepherd.
What we are grateful for is the fact that our children, whom God has chosen and anointed as global figures in the 21st century, are born and raised with the heart, attitude, and spirit of a shepherd.
1. “The sheep hear his voice, and he calls each of his sheep by name and leads them out” (10:3, Responsibility & Faithfulness):
The shepherd gives each of his sheep a name and loves them like children. The shepherd treats the sheep so personally that he can talk to them.
1) The good shepherd works with deep love for the sheep.
A shepherd works for love, but a wage earner works for money. A Christian should do anything out of love. Jesus said, “He loved his disciples, and he loved them to the end.”
2) The shepherd has a thorough mission for the sheep, who only feeds the sheep with good pasture and makes them drink the water of life to make them strong (10:9 “I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly”).
The wage earner works for his own abundance, but the shepherd works for the sheep. The reason the shepherd leads the sheep into the valley of the shadow of death is because through it there is clean living water and the most fertile food of the highlands (Table).
3) A strong sense of responsibility and sincerity come out of deep love.
So David fights for his life with bears, lions, and wolves that graze the sheep, but the wage earner runs away when only a fox appears.
2. “When he has laid down all his sheep, he goes ahead, and the sheep follow him, because they know his voice” (10:4, Set the example, Come, Follow Me):
1) The shepherd leads the sheep in front of the sheep, but the cowboy drives behind the cows.
A platoon is the most basic organization of the army and consists of 40 soldiers. The slogan of the platoon leader is “Follow me.” That's why platoon leaders die the most on the battlefield because they lead from the front line.
The movie “Rescue Dawn” is based on the true story of naval bomber pilot Dieter Dengler escaping from Viet Cong prisoners during the Vietnam War.
After successfully escaping and returning to the USS Ranger (CV 61) aircraft carrier, the final scene in which the captain (admiral of the Navy) first salutes and pays respect to the war hero is very touching.
Admiral and Lieutenant of the Navy are the difference between heaven and earth. However, Porora is an expression of respect for his subordinates who overcame all kinds of hardships and succeeded in escaping from extreme conditions. It was very exemplary.
2) A leader who is truly respected is because his voice (words) and actions are consistent with his wisdom, abilities, and achievements.
Although mothers have a lot of conversations and fellowship with their children, and fathers do not have that much time, it is because they act as “showers” that they have a great influence on the upbringing of their children.
The shepherd sets an example in front. So the sheep hear the voice of the shepherd who takes the lead. When words and actions coincide, you are heard.
The difference between a captain and a player is that the captain can speak on the ground, but normal players cannot. The coach gives instructions to the captain from the ground night. And the players listen and follow the captain. When you hear and follow his voice, you will be victorious.
3. “I am the good shepherd, and the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep...but I know my sheep and my sheep know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father, so I lay down my life for the sheep” (Sacrifice) Spirit, Sacrifice):
1) Sacrificing even one's life for the sheep is the most obvious difference between a shepherd and a laborer (10:11-13 “I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep, but the servant is not a shepherd, and the sheep are their own. No, but when he sees a wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away; the wolves plunder and overrun them, and they run away because he is a wager, and he does not care for the sheep”). However, Seong-kun pursues only personal self-interest (私利私慾).
2) Sacrifice is the thing that God loves the most and is pleased with (10:17 “The Father loves me, because I lay down my life in order to take it again”).
In social life, people with a spirit of regeneration are welcomed by superiors, colleagues and subordinates. Universities are places that train the social elite. So, the student that the dean of college admissions likes the most is to select a person who can show leadership not only in the university society but also in society in the future.
Therefore, leadership is the most important factor in entering a prestigious university. It is to select students with a spirit of sacrifice to serve society, that is, the community. God did not spare his only begotten Son and sacrificed himself to the point of giving up on the cross.
3) Sacrifice is not a costly abandonment, but a valuable gain. The fruit of the sacrifice of the cross is the glory of the resurrection. He said, “I lay down my life in order that I may take it again” (verse 17). It does not exist, but I put it away myself”).
