Title: True Parents
Ephesians 6:1-4 ‘1. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2. Honor thy father and mother, for this is the first commandment with promise;
3. For it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth. 4. Also, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.' - Amen.
There is no right way for the family in the world, such as the parent's position, the duty to the parent as a child, or the educational view of the child as a parent. Although the public criticizes Christianity for lack of filial piety, the Bible clearly teaches with a commandment that God is in heaven and parents are the best.
Exodus 20:12 “Honor your father and mother, that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.”
Today is Parents' Day, and we hope that we will listen again to what <true parents> are taught in the Bible and practice them so that we can have the right parental image, raise our children well, and become true adults in the world.
1. Must be a good parent
In today's materialistic society, they cannot act as true parents, so their children are all depraved in pursuit of money and fame. The world does not come of its own accord, but the lessons and lifestyles of groups called families make history. Therefore, the nature of the family community creates the society and the times.
Text Ephesians 6:1-2 ‘1. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2. Honor your father and mother, for these are the first commandments with a promise.'
Therefore, first of all, parents must know their place in the Lord and have faith to guide their children on behalf of God. If the parents are unbelievers, they already do not do their job properly.
Matthew 12:50 “Whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”
Children are punished if their parents do not have faith, or if they have cults or cults. If parents do not repent, they will beat their children,
Revelation 2:23 “...and I will put to death his children.”
They became children of hypocritical scribes and Pharisees, and eventually became children of the devil and suffered the destruction of Jerusalem even as children. Parents must first have the wisdom of biblical judgment and become true believers in order to teach their children rightly and lead them on the good and blessed path.
2. Must be brought up with the instruction of the Lord
Parents have a duty to properly educate their children. It's not a true parent's job to just follow along with the kids as they like.
In order for the Korean church and Korean society to become right, parents need reform. No, for this era to be right, parents must first change.
Today, children do not know adults because they do not educate their children about having one or two children and raising them into princes and princesses. It's the parents' responsibility, not the kids' fault.
Ephesians 6:4 “And fathers, do not provoke your children, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.”
The word “nurture” (ejktrevfw) has the meaning of “training and nurturing until mature”.
1 Timothy 5:4 “... If you have children or grandchildren, let them first learn to show filial piety in their own homes, to repay their parents, for this is acceptable in the sight of God.”
Col 3:20 “Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing in the Lord.”
Old Testament era
Exodus 21:15 “Anyone who strikes against his father or mother must be put to death.”
Exodus 21:17 “Anyone who curses his father or his mother must be put to death.”
Deuteronomy 27:16 “Cursed is he who despises his father and mother; let all the people say, Amen.”
Whether they have one, two, or ten children, it is clear that children are never my possessions, but they are not their own selves, they are God-given inheritances. Because it belongs to God, it means that we have an obligation to nurture it according to God's will.
Psalm 127:3 “Children are an inheritance from the LORD, and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”
Contributing to the country just by having children? That's not correct. If the population is small, do you have many children? It's not about being patriotic. We must only discipline and properly nurture children according to God's good will. If you give birth and raise them as you like, you are ruining the country.
Do you give them everything they want out of love for them? It's self-defeating and mourning. God doesn't teach that. From the day God adopted us,
Hebrews 12:6 “For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and scourges every son whom he receives.”
The Bible is almost full of reproof and instruction when you look closely. He said that he does not let life go as we please, but always guides us and teaches us on a new and good path, but if we do not listen, even disciplines us and makes us go straight. But what about our parents today?
Some parents said they had been told not to say anything to their children, good or bad, and I've listened to crazy parents who let them live their own life. That's amazing.
The end of the world has come, and we have entered a decade of depravity in which children despise their parents and shirk their responsibilities. We believe that, in order to fulfill the duty of a true parent, when I first depend on the Lord and become a true believer, then, when I try to fulfill my responsibility to raise my children with God's true teaching, we will be blessed as true parents and our children will prosper. *
