Title: True Worshipers Experience God's Filling
Contents
The true worshiper experiences God's filling.
1 Kings 4:1-34
We spent two days looking at how Solomon impressed God. I said that the secret to Solomon being the wisest king, the king he enjoyed while possessing wealth and honor at the same time, was worship and prayer. Those who love God with a whole heart, obey God's laws, and can fully dedicate their lives to the Lord.
God gives blessings to such people, and they receive grace by pouring out even things they do not ask for. Solomon was a victor in “worship and prayer,” which is the foundation of our faith. He was a man of God who moved God through worship and prayer. As a result, they received and enjoyed wealth, honor, and longevity that they did not ask for.
Today, I would like to take a closer look at how God answered Solomon's persistent and humble prayer, the intensive and clear prayer that pierces the core.
Please believe that God does not only make promises, but He is a God who always keeps His promises.
“Thus says the LORD who does the work, the LORD who builds it and fulfills it, and his name is Jehovah.”
-Jeremiah 33:2-
Chapter 4 lists three things about the abundant grace and blessings that God promised to Solomon.
1. You have filled the talent.
According to Fortune magazine, an American economic magazine, GE (General Electric) was ranked as the world's most admired company for four consecutive years until 2002. The company's CEO spends most of his time working for the company looking for people. Jack Welch, then chairman, said, “70% of my mission is to find talent.” Jack Welch's office has the adage, "People come before strategy."
You can meet examples of excellent teamwork in the Sejong era, which is called the 'golden age of Korean science history'. The production of the finest metal movable type and watches of the time, and the invention of the world's first rain gauge were all the result of effective teamwork. It was possible because of the teamwork and the support of King Sejong, who selected talented people such as Jang Yeong-sil, who was a former government official, and appointed even technical officials like Icheon to key positions to show their discretion.
In Romans 16, 37 co-workers of Paul are mentioned, and in Nehemiah 3, the names of many people who participated in the construction of the walls of Jerusalem are recorded. The first blessing that God gave to Solomon was that he gave him the necessary co-workers to change the affairs of the country. The names of 11 bureaucrats and the heads of 12 provinces are recorded.
From this, we can see that God assigns co-workers to those whom God loves. I also believe that you are valuable co-workers. We have gone through a really long tunnel to select true co-workers, and I believe that we will be victorious by following the process of becoming co-workers who share God's holy work with strong faith in many tribulations.
The very first work that Jesus did was first select the 12 disciples. They were people who shared your ministry, your vision, and put that vision into practice. To Solomon, God gave him valuable human resources. In particular, in verse 3, Jehoshaphat is mentioned, and Jehoshaphat has been a loyal officer since the time of King David (2 Samuel 20:24). Because of this, I eventually suffered the pain of division.
The first blessing that God has given to those who worship and pray is that He has appointed His co-workers.
2. He filled you with wealth.
Second, God pours out wealth. Verses 20-29 explain how wealthy Solomon was.
First, the population grew like the sand on the beach, but they had no problem eating and drinking and having fun. Especially, when it comes to the daily food of the household members of Solomon’s household, fine flour was thirty stones, coarse flour 60 stones, fat oxen were ten, pasture cattle were twenty, and sheep were one hundred; are speaking
In 11:3, it is said that Solomon's family had 700 wives and 300 concubines. The number of children is uncountable, but it must be astronomical. It was the blessing of God that allowed these family members to eat to their full potential, to enjoy and to live safely.
In other words, Solomon was a wealthy and well-spent man. Some people are in a hurry to make money, but there are people who can't spend their money in a good way. Isn't there a saying that you earn like a dog and use it like a jeongseung? It is the Christian's view of materialism to earn hard and use it worthwhile.
So Christians should be generous givers.
3. He filled you with wisdom.
God poured out wisdom upon Solomon's request. But the wisdom was so great that Solomon could not even imagine. When Solomon asked for the wisdom needed to rule the people of Israel, God gave him superiority over all the wisdom of the East and the West. (verse 30)
Oriental wisdom is metaphysical wisdom, Egyptian wisdom is practical wisdom. In other words, Eastern wisdom is fundamental and cutting-edge wisdom, but like the wisdom of Egypt, He poured out wisdom that can be used in reality.
God made Solomon so that not only Israel but all the kings of the world longed for this wisdom. When God exalts the people of God, when God touches the heart of God, and even though he is a small child and infirm and weak, when he goes to God in perfect worship and prayer, when he entrusts himself to the Lord Please believe that God will make that person superior to all the nations that have heard him.
If we look at that wisdom in detail, there was the wisdom of stating three thousand proverbs, one thousand five psalms, and realizing God's providence of creation in all things in nature.
Most importantly, do not forget that Solomon's 1,000 burnt offerings, persistent and humble prayer, and prayer that touched God's heart were the secret to receiving and enjoying these blessings.
So, dear saints,
Pray for worship. Don't worry about coming to worship.
Don't put your thoughts ahead of worship. Don't put your actions first.
The Church of God is a church where God's people gather. As we gather together to worship and sing praises, God will accept your burnt offerings, and in response to your prayers, shake it and pour it out to overflowing, and he will bless you with abundant abundance even if you lend and distribute.
There is no royal road. In any shape, only a heart that loves God and a heart that obeys the law and worships God can impress God, and we can enjoy the blessing of peace and prosperity in our lives.
Today, I pray in the name of the Lord that these blessings of life may be filled with the saints you love.
