Title: Truly Blessed Things / Luke 10:21-24

There was a time when Jesus set up seventy disciples, not the twelve, and sent them out two by two ahead of them to each town and region he was going to go to, telling them that the kingdom of God was near (Luke 10:16). At that time, the seventy who had returned from that missionary journey rejoiced and said to Jesus, “Lord, if it is your name, even the demons surrender to us.” Jesus said, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you power to trample on serpents and scorpions, and to have control over all the power of the enemy, and no one will harm you. But do not rejoice that the demons surrender to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven." Luke 10:17-20). And what follows is today's text.

Today's text is not very long, but it reveals and reaffirms the most important things for our faith. Above all, it makes clear once again the relationship between God and Jesus Christ. Verses 21-22 are Jesus' prayer of thanksgiving to the Father, and verses 23-24 are a declaration of blessing to the disciples. Jesus began to pray and said, "Father, Lord of heaven and earth." The lordship of heaven and earth refers to the God who created and rules the universe. Jesus revealed that the God is His Father, that is, He is the Son of God.

Verse 22 reaffirms the words of verse 21 with an example: "All things have been given to me by my Father, and no one knows who the Son is but the Father, and who is the Father except the Son and him who receives a revelation as the Son wishes? No one knows what it is." This is a statement that makes it clear once again that it is absolutely impossible to know God except for God and without God's will.

Verse 22 also reveals the absolute unity between Jesus Christ and God, in other words, the Father and the Son. In verse 21, it is said that it is entirely the will of the Father to hide it from the wise and prudent and reveal it to the little children. What you are saying is that the Son has the same right as the Father to choose to whom the knowledge of God, the Kingdom of God, and the truth of salvation will be made known. This is the word that confirms to us the oneness of the Father and the Son.

It seems that there are many people who do not consider themselves happy because the world is chaotic these days and the economy is difficult. It's a time when it seems like there's not much fun or fun. But it is always important for us to surrender all the demons that disturb this country before the name of the Lord. Let's be happy about it. No matter how precarious and insecure we are, let us not lose strength and courage, remembering that God is with us and that Jesus Christ has already triumphed over this world. No matter how difficult times may be in our lives, let us be saved by grace and overcome any hardship and adversity with the joy of becoming eternal people of the kingdom of God.
