Title: Truly He Was the Son of God

Matthew 27:45-56 Truly was the Son of God Subject:16. resurrection. transfer. 2008. 3. 23.

Introduction

: While Christ was hanging on the cross, several miraculous events took place.

* The miracles completely prove that the cross is not a tragic failure, but a victory.

1. Divine Witness (45-53)

2. The evidence of people (54-56)

1. Divine Witness (45-53)

One). Scary Darkness (45)

Supernatural darkness fell on the land from the 6th (noon) to the 9th (3pm).

The symbol of darkness is

① It proves clearly that Christ was the Son of God.

* Everyone must have kept their mouths shut in fear and awe.

② This darkness is the darkest day of history.

* The day when the Son of God Himself died for the sins of mankind.

③ This darkness symbolizes the darkness of sin.

④ This darkness symbolizes the darkness of the human soul and what he does.

⑤ It symbolizes the withdrawal of the light of God's presence from the sinner.

⑥ It symbolizes God's wrath against sin.

2). Mystical Loud Shout (46-49)

What is the meaning of the shocking words, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

① He took away the presence of God. I felt that we were no longer together.

② I felt that God had taken away His salvation. (You have always met your needs before)

③ I felt that I was being cursed by God. (Separation from God, judgment of sin, curse of condemnation)

④ He felt that the life and holiness of God had left him. (passed into the hands of sin and death)

3). The soul of Jesus departs with a loud cry of victory (50)

With the great cry of victory, “It is finished” (John 19:30), the soul of Jesus left.

“The soul departed” means that you voluntarily gave up your soul.

What happened in 3 days

①From the cross: Colossians 2:15,

② The cross and after death: 1 Peter 3:18-20,

③After death: Ephesians 4:8-10

The ninth hour is the time when the priests begin to offer the supper of the Lamb inside the city.

The Lamb bore the sins of mankind and became the sacrifice (1 Corinthians 5:7, Hebrews 13:12).

4). Great veil of the sanctuary torn from top to bottom (51)

The veil is one of the most important things because it surrounds the ark of the covenant, which symbolizes God's own presence.

The drapery was large and beautiful, and was majestic at about 60 feet (18 m) in height (separating the Holy and Most Holy).

“The veil was torn from top to bottom” This symbolizes that God directly tore the veil. It also symbolizes that it is now possible to come directly into the presence of God. (Hebrews 6:19...)

5). Earth shakes (51)

It is a terrible earthquake. What this earthquake symbolizes has a triple meaning.

① The earth shook under the weight of the sins that were transferred to the Creator who made the earth. (1 Peter 2:24, Isaiah 53:5)

② It is to symbolize the fatal blow inflicted on Satan's reign. (John 12:31-32, Col 2:15, Hebrews 2:14)

③ The earth also symbolizes the fact that it is stimulated to await the glorious day of redemption. (Rom 8:21, 2 Peter 3:10-13)

6). Many saints resurrected (52-53)

It happened a lot at this time, but I don't know who they are.

① The tomb was opened during a terrible earthquake (52), but only after Jesus was resurrected (53).

② During the events of the cross and resurrection, Jesus bore the punishment of death and hell for human sin.

* Jesus tasted both physical and spiritual death. (Heb 2:9, 14)

③ Peter’s words: “He also preached by spirit to the spirits in prison” (1 Peter 3:19)

④ Paul’s words: “It is said that when he ascended on high, he captured the captives and gave gifts to men. If he said that he went up and went up, then what is it, except that he came down to the ground…” (Ephesians 4:8-10)

The symbol of the resurrection of the saints is

① It symbolizes the fact that Christ has conquered death.

* Now the sting of death is removed, and the power of death is destroyed (1 Corinthians 15:25-26, 51-57, Hebrews 2:14).

② It symbolizes the resurrection of believers. The believers will be resurrected and will come to know one another.

(Matthew 27:53, John 5:28-29, 6:40, 2 Corinthians 4:14, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

2. The evidence of people (54-56)

One). Confessions of the centurion and others (54)

“This was truly the Son of God”

As the earth shook after darkness, the centurion and his men cried out in fear. It is the true truth.

The soldiers did not know what the Son of God meant, but they were executed for claiming to be the Son of God.

I knew the truth.

By looking at the words and decisive actions of Christ while hanging on the cross, we can see that His claims were true.

I would have believed more strongly. (Romans 10:9-10)
