Title: Trust God

Zechariah (6) Trust God to the end (Zechariah 2:1-5)

< God's Attentive Hand >

In the text, the third vision of Zechariah is called “the vision of the man holding the measuring line.” In that vision, I saw a man holding a measuring line in his hand. This one man is believed to be Jehovah's messenger on the aforementioned red horse. Then He is the pre-incarnate Christ. Zechariah asked him. “Where are you going?” If the person holding the measuring line is the pre-incarnate Christ, this should be translated into Korean. “My lord! Where are you going?”

Then he answered. “We want to measure Jerusalem and see its glory (verse 2).” Then another angel comes out and tells Zechariah that Jerusalem will become like a village without walls as the number of people and livestock increases, and God will become a wall of fire all around (verses 4-5). Thank you for restoring Jerusalem, but go further and see Christ Himself taking the measuring line in his hand and examining the fields of Jerusalem. As such, God's grace extends to the smallest detail.

There is no place in this world that God's grace does not reach, and there is not a single hour in our lives when God has turned away from us. To Almighty God, there is no such thing as “minor things,” and all things are meaningful. There is no “meaningless time,” and all time is precious. In fact, even coincidences are all planned by God. In God, ‘accidental’ is also ‘necessary’ that was accomplished through God’s meticulous plan and hand.

< God's great grace and protection >

Why is Jerusalem prosperous, and there are many people and livestock (verse 4), so why is it like a village without walls? It symbolizes the infinity of God's grace. God's grace always transcends human sweat, good deeds, and thoughts. Sometimes when I think of God's grace, tears come out. Considering how many sins and faults we have, we deserve to be destroyed and die. Still, God fills us with more than we think, answers more than our prayers, and gives us grace beyond our actions.

People think at first glance. “How can I live without the walls of Jerusalem because I am anxious?” However, God says that the wall of Jerusalem without walls becomes a wall of fire (verse 5). It indicates that God will protect you to the end. Trust the God who protects you to the end and never lose your courage under any circumstances.

In animal circus shows, lions, tigers or wild beasts pass through lit rings at the command of their trainer. At first glance, it may seem easy to pass the ring of fire, but considering the nature of the beast, it is not an easy task. Still, the beasts pass through the ring of fire at the command of their tamer.

How is that possible? It wasn't because they were fed deliciously or trained to whip. It is for one reason that the beasts overcome their terrifying instincts and pass through the ring of fire. That's because you trust your trainer. Beasts also go through the Ring of Fire when I have confidence that my tamer has never put me in danger. In other words, trust in the protection of the tamer made even the animal, which is not yet afraid of the environment, overcome it.

How much more shameful if a person who believes in God sees a burning environment and fears it. The Lord loved us even to the point of offering Himself as a sacrifice. Trust God's love to the end and do not lose heart in any difficult circumstances. Even now, the Lord intervenes deeply in our lives and protects and protects us with His great love.

People usually try to find stability by belonging to a community. It is true that the community is the strength in difficult times. But the really important attitude is to be sure of God's grace, love, and protection in a greater sense than joining any community. Then God becomes a wall of fire that protects the soul from all sides. Always put God's grace, love, and protection at the fore, and take a bold step of faith.
