Title: Trust in God

Psalm 115:9-11 Trust in God
Last week I went to Korea and saw my father who had lung cancer and was very sad. The doctor said that he only had one month to live, and even though he said he couldn't heal any more, my father kept holding on to the doctor and begging me to live.
It was sad to see him holding on to a doctor who said he couldn't, so I told my father. "Father, it is the right thing for a person to be born and die in this world, and it is said that there will be judgment after that. But because you believed in Jesus, you will not be judged, but will go to heaven, resurrection, and eternal life, thank God. Aren't you thankful that you blessed your father in various ways and that he kept his health until the age of 72? Now that I have lung cancer and cannot use a doctor, let's do our best to cling to God. I am old and have terminal lung cancer, so I can't do surgery or radiation treatment, so let's rely on God and pray while taking medicine.
Then, seeing my father deeply repented of his life that depended only on doctors and money, and now he turned to God and prayed to God, he was able to return with a peaceful mind.
Ladies and gentlemen, many people today say they believe in God, but in reality they do not depend on God, but on humans, on money and power, and on their own.
Even though he says he can't be a doctor, he continues to cling to his doctor, and he doesn't cling to God even though he promises to heal and bless God. Why ?
because you don't have faith. God is a powerful God who gives life to the dead and calls things that do not exist as though they were (Romans 4:17), and there is nothing impossible in Him (Luke 1:37). .
They say they believe in God and depend on God with their outward appearance and mouth, but in real life they are still dependent on people, money and power, and relying on themselves.
But the Bible clearly says it. "Do not depend on princes, nor on people who do not have the strength to help, for when their breath ceases, they return to dust, and their plans perish in the same day." (Psalm 146:3-4)
“Better to take refuge in the Lord than trust in men; it is better to take refuge in the Lord than trust in princes.” (Psalm 118:8-9) "Cursed is the man who believes in a man, and his body is his power, and his heart turns away from the LORD, but blessed is he who trusts in the LORD and trusts in the LORD." (Jeremiah 17:5,7)
"People, trust in him from time to time and pour out your heart before him. God is our refuge." (Psalm 62:8) "Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting Rock." (Psalm 26:4) "He who trusts in the Lord is like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but remains forever." (Psalm 125:1)
Everyone, I want to ask you. Who do you trust and who do you depend on now? "Yes, I still believe in my wife (husband) and trust and depend on my friend. Oh, in a harsh world, it's good to trust and depend on each other, isn't it?"
Of course, rather than distrusting each other and blaming each other, it is the duty of us humans to live with trust and one of the missions of Christians.
But do not forget. If you trust people and depend on them, one day you will suffer bitter pain with great disappointment. Guys, take a moment to look back at your life. Who has let you down and who has caused you pain? Wasn't that the people you trusted and depended on?
So the Bible says. “Do not trust your neighbor, do not trust in your friends, and guard the door of your mouth, even to the woman who lies in your arms.” (Mic 7:5) "Do not trust in life. Its breath is in the nose. Where is it worthy to be numbered?" (Isaiah 2:22)
But I want to ask these people. They say that no one in this world can be trusted, only you can trust yourself, but can you really believe in yourself? Are you so perfect, so proud, and so proud of yourself?
What on earth are you relying on yourself? If you were good, how good would you be, if you learned how much you learned, and if you had, how much would you have?
And how good would you be if you were good, and how righteous if you were righteous? Isn't believing in yourself and trusting yourself out of ignorance of not knowing too much about yourself?
The Bible clearly shows us what we are. “The human heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9)
"For out of the heart of a man come evil thoughts: fornication, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, licentiousness, a lustful eye, blasphemy, pride and madness. All these evil things come from the human heart." (Mark 7:21-23)
In other words, no matter how clean you are, you are more filthy in the sight of God than a mop, and no matter how talented you are, you are never something to be proud of before God. In other words, he was never able to depend on himself. So the Bible says.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and not in your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5) "He who trusts in his riches will perish." (Proverbs 11:28) Look at the apostle Paul. He was a person who was good at various studies, and he had a good background to the point that he also had Roman citizenship at the time. So he relied on himself so much that he did not know Jesus and did a lot of harm to the Church of God.
But he later met Jesus and realized how foolish it was to live on his own. And he confesses this. “I also have trust in the flesh, and I received Halle on the eighth day, of the house of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews, as to the law a Pharisee, as to the righteousness of the law, blameless. For the sake of Christ I count not only loss, but excrement." (Phil 3:4-8)
That is, he does not depend on his good background or knowledge, but only on Jesus. Because he realized that only Jesus could deliver him from hell, the punishment for sin, and that Jesus was the only Savior who led him to heaven.
Sometimes he suffered severe tribulation and hardship while preaching the gospel, and even thought he had lost his hope of living and was sentenced to death, but he confessed this. "This is so that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead. He has rescued us from this great death and will deliver us. And I hope that you will deliver us even after that. (2 Corinthians 1:8-10)
Everyone, I want to ask you. Who do you turn to when your moment of death approaches? Who do you turn to when an illness or problem approaches you? Who the hell do you depend on?
Wouldn't it be a great misfortune to live without relying on God and relying only on ourselves, and if we depend on people who do not have the power to help? Moreover, in this immigrant life where race, culture, language, and laws are wrong, if we depend only on ourselves and people, wouldn't it be a very clear failure like seeing a fire? The success and failure of immigration, the hopes and despairs, the happiness and the unhappiness depend on whom you depend on.
In the Old Testament, King Asa of Judah appears. When he became king, he abolished idols and served only God, so he received peace and prosperity from God. And this is how the Cushites prayed to the LORD when they invaded Judah with a million men and three hundred chariots.
"O LORD, between the strong and the weak, there is no one to help but you. Help us, O LORD our God. We trust in you and trust in your name, I beg you, let no man overcome you." (2 Chronicles 14:11)
Then, as God defeated all the soldiers of Cush, numbering a million, King Asa was able to achieve a great victory. His victory was never in the number of soldiers or horsemen. His victory was only possible because he relied on God alone.
However, in the 39th year of Asa's reign as king, his foot became very sick, and the Bible says that he did not seek the Lord, but only the doctors.
In other words, the person who should have depended on God only depended on the doctor, so in the end he could not get God's help and he died two years later.
Folks, the Bible clearly states. "I lift up my eyes to the mountains. Where will my help come from? My help is from the LORD, who made the heavens and the earth." (Psalm 121:1) "Or by chariots or by horses, but we will boast in the name of the LORD our God." (Psalm 20:7)
Ladies and gentlemen, God is speaking to us today. "You shall not go down to Egypt for help." (Isaiah 31:1) "I will help you. I will strengthen you. I will sustain you." (Isaiah 41:10) "Trust in me. I am your help and your shield." (Psalm 115:9) Amen!
