Title: Trust in God (Proverbs 29:25-26)
[Proverbs 29:25-26]
[25] ♠ The fear of men falls into a snare, but those who trust in the Lord will be safe [26] ♠ Many seek the sovereign's favor, but a man's decisions come from the Lord.
What did you think as you read today's sermon? Today's talk is easy for anyone to predict. You can accept and understand the Word as it is without any explanation. This is a word we hear and meditate on so often, but why is it not applied in our lives and there is no peace and stability in our hearts? I hope you will find strength in today's Word and find peace through the Word of God once again.
If you truly believe in Almighty God, you will have true stability and peace in your heart.
However, according to the Bible, even great believers had fears. Abraham was afraid of death and deceived Abimelech that his wife was his sister. Abraham, who became the channel of blessing, also lied because he was afraid of death.
Before Joshua conquered Canaan, he was afraid. God told him many times not to be afraid but to be strong and courageous. Joshua was afraid because the heavy responsibility of leading the people of Israel in Moses' place was heavy, and it was difficult for his age to do such a job.
When King Ahab's wife, Queen Jezebel, tried to kill him, the prophet Elijah fell in fear and wanted to quit God's work and die.
Jesus' disciples were getting in a boat and were afraid when they saw Jesus walking on the water.
The apostle Paul was afraid when he faced difficulties while preaching the gospel, but God appeared to him and told him to preach the gospel boldly.
“Do not be afraid, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous hand” (Isaiah 41:10).
Today's text also says that fear will lead to a snare, but those who trust in the Lord will be safe.
What fears do you have? What difficulties are you facing? What worries and concerns do you have?
Please cast all your fears and worries before Almighty God.
Second, we must fear God.
Jesus said not to be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul, but fear him who can destroy both body and soul in hell. It says to be afraid of those who need to be feared and do not be afraid of those who do not need to be afraid. I hope you will hold on to these words and overcome your fears.
As we approach the new year, I hope that you will now fear and depend on God the Father, who is omnipotent, omniscient, and created the entire universe, without being conscious of people or relying on anything in the world. I hope that these words will not only be known through knowledge, but will become words of power to be applied in our lives.
What does it mean to depend on God?
Today's Word says that the only sovereign in the world is Jehovah. It is said that the decrees of a man's affairs come from the LORD. No matter how much people plan and prepare for the future with their hearts, God is guiding our steps. It is to believe and depend on this God. The God who created the heavens and the earth, the omnipotent and omnipresent God, who rules our lives, prepares our way, and leads us to green pastures and clear streams so that we do not lack. Don't worry as you plan for the new year. In 2006, God was with us and led us to this day. I believe that the faithful God will lead the people of the Lord you love in 2007 as well. No matter how unstable this world is, do not be afraid of people who can only kill the body, but fear God who can destroy the body and the spirit forever.
Even in the history of Christianity, many people died as a result of martyrdom, and all of them were not afraid of those who killed only the body. All of them lived as believers who believed in and feared God more than anyone else who kills and brings life to life. So they could be thankful in any circumstances. I was able to preach the gospel in any environment. We hope that you will have victory until the day the Lord comes by looking and relying on Jesus, who is the life and resurrection for us.
