tunnel of suffering
Genesis 16:1-7
Just because you have received a vision from God does not mean that the road ahead will be opened immediately. All those who received God's vision and promise went through a dark and long tunnel of suffering. Abraham received a vision and a promise to give him as many descendants as the stars in the sky. But after receiving that promise, a dark shadow shrouded his path. All reality was going against God's promises. To have as many descendants as the stars in the sky, many children must be born, but not a single child has been born for over 10 years. We use humane methods to solve this problem. He wants to have a child with Hagar, an Egyptian woman, as Abraham's second wife. They had a child as they wished. But the child brought disaster to the family.
The vision God has given will come true after going through the tunnel of suffering. However, if you do not go through this tunnel of suffering according to God's method, you will face great difficulties. God's vision comes true regardless of my actions because He makes it happen. But you will suffer a lot that is not necessary. We cannot get out of the dark tunnel of suffering to achieve God's vision. Jesus also went through the tunnel of suffering on the cross to fulfill the vision of salvation for mankind that God had given him. We just have to care how we're going to get through it.
First, we must wait for God's timing. Abraham waited 10 years, now thinking he was wrong, and tried to solve the problem with human wisdom. But 15 more years passed after that, and the vision came true for Abraham. Never rush and wait for the Lord to make it happen.
Second, we must not try to help God in a human way. Many people try to do things that God does not want them to do just because they are good works. The vision God has given is fulfilled in God's way. We must break free from the temptation to force ourselves to do it in a human way.
Third, remember that you are going through a tunnel, not in a cave. The end of the coal mine is called Makjang. There is no way anymore. But no matter how long the tunnel, there is an end. When Abraham waited 25 years, it must have seemed endless. But the end has come. There is no end to the tunnel of suffering through which people with a vision of God go. Many people think that their dreams are getting further and farther away if they don't come true after a lot of time has passed. But those who have passed through the tunnel are getting closer and closer as time goes by.
