Today, I'm going to go directly to the dream story of the text. The king of "Egypt", the most powerful country at the time, had a very sad dream. When the king was standing on the beautiful river, the Nile, and looking at him with joy, seven very thin cows came up from there and graze peacefully. What a feel-good scene. The king must have been very pleased. But suddenly, this time, 7 very skinny and ferocious cows came up and ate the 7 fat cows! But it was still skinny and ugly. It would have been very confusing. I fell asleep again and had a similar dream: 7 very good ears of rice came out, and then 7 ears of rice came out and swallowed them. I had a really, really bad dream twice in one night. In the morning, he immediately summoned his servants and mobilized all the wise men to interpret dreams. But no one can interpret the dream. In fact, when I look at the interpretation that Joseph interprets later, I think that it will not be very difficult... However, this is the most difficult dream.
At that time, Egypt was not only a powerful country, but also their wise men were famous all over the world at that time. The snake (cobra) in front of the king's crown called Pharaoh (Pharaoh) is a symbol of wisdom. So the pharaoh was considered to be the embodiment of the god of wisdom. However, the wise men of Egypt were all mobilized, but they could not interpret it. Joseph did it! The pride of the Egyptian wisdom tradition is just being crumpled. It's exciting because you and I are all on Joseph's side, but when you think about it from the perspective of the wise men of Egypt, it's quite speechless. A young blue-eyed 30-year-old young man from the Hebrew tribe, who he saw as a barbaric tribe, was uttering dreams without hesitation, which is amazing. The two dreams are one and will come true soon, and for 7 years of good harvest and famine... But Joseph does not stop at the interpretation of dreams. In verse 33, he even explains to the king of Egypt in detail how to prepare for such an event like a counselor or a staff member. Having a fifth of the money dedicated to the king, storing it in each castle... No, how can a slave who was imprisoned in prison say that he knows the national affairs of this great country? Yes!
When we say, "That's God! Oh God!" When we confess, God will use what He has trained us for! How far have you gone now? In social status, in economic circumstances, in work achievements, in family problems, in life problems, in health... No matter how far down you go, don't be discouraged. Are you not God? He is God! So Paul's confession is: 2 Corinthians 4:7 - We have this treasure in earthen vessels; we are afflicted on every side, but not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; thrown down, but not destroyed. ...why! Because Jesus is in us.... May this confession be yours and me today.....
