Title: Two Passovers (Lecture 13)

People think of heaven as a paradise or paradise. How nice it is that there are no tears, no pain, no sickness. How good would it be to live there, as it is adorned with gold and gold jewels? It's easy to think of it as if you got an apartment for sale in this way. So everyone wants to go to heaven. Because everyone knows that heaven is good. The problem is that my body and mind are the same, my greed, dreams, ambitions, and temperament are the same, but the desire to change only the environment covets heaven. Such a heaven is paradise, not heaven. I know all the good things about Seoul National University. That doesn't mean that everyone wants to go to Seoul National University. Likewise, heaven is not for everyone. Heaven is a place where people cannot go without changing. If you go to heaven without changing anything like that, would heaven be heaven? It will become hell. Therefore, only those who have become new people who know why they should go to heaven will go to heaven.

Israel has passed through the wilderness and is now on its way to the land of Canaan. However, before God enters into the land of Canaan, God is teaching Israel with several words. The reason for doing this is to teach us what kind of people who will enter the land of Canaan. It is not the same way we had when we lived in Egypt, that is, the Egyptian style. Now Israel must change to the Canaanite way, or in other words, God's way. If we do not change, we will not be able to step on the land of Canaan. The same is true of today's text. As the time passed after leaving Egypt, Israel gradually forgot and forgot the grace of God who had delivered it from Egypt. God commanded Israel to keep the Passover in the wilderness of Sinai, one year after they came out of Egypt.

The reason that the Passover was kept is not because of the importance of the ritual itself. You must know that through the Passover, He told us not to forget the meaning of the Passover. We can see what God intended by keeping the Passover on the 14th day of the first month and keeping it on the 14th day of the second month for those who did not participate again. . Why did some people not keep the Passover? Those who were defiled with the corpse and could not keep it came to Moses and asked God to keep it, and inquired of God to keep it once more.

Then we need to think about what this Passover means and why we must keep it like this. The Passover is a festival to commemorate Israel's salvation from slavery in Egypt and the survival of the Israelites through the blood of the Lamb. Then, what is the spirit of the Passover? The Passover is not simply a festival to rejoice in their salvation. Because what they do is reproduce what they did back then. They ate sheep without breaking their bones, and they ate unleavened bread and bitter herbs. In order to keep the Passover, they had to be circumcised and purified. First of all, not breaking the bones of a sheep is Egyptian eating. But not eating with bones broken means that the beast is not a beast that will be broken, that is, an animal that will die. In other words, it means a vaguely dead animal. It means that you have become a new person with new life by eating it and applying blood. In the end, this means to think of the vaguely dead sacrifice for me.

They are also told to eat unleavened bread and bitter herbs. Unleavened bread is unleavened bread. Eating these is to remember that someone has suffered bitterly for me. For Israel to keep the Passover, it is not simply to keep the feast, but to become a person who knows that someone has sacrificed for me. Where is it that only those with such a spirit can enter? It means that you can step on the land of Canaan. This is the meaning of the Passover. Then, if you have this Passover spirit, that is, if you are a new person, you will not allow anything between the kingdom of heaven and yourself. It means that when he goes through the wilderness to the land of Canaan, some other temptation comes in and tempts him, but he does not pay attention. Verse 13 says, ?hoever is clean and does not keep the Passover while he is not traveling will be cut off from among his people.??This does not mean the importance of the ceremony, but it means that if you do not have the spirit of the Passover and are immersed in the world, the land of Canaan has crossed the waters. People are longing for heaven.

Everyone wants to go to heaven and hopes for that heaven. It is also the fact that we love the world as much as we do in heaven. To keep the Passover means to cut off our hope for the world. And he is urging us to remember the sacrifice of God who died vaguely for me and brought me to heaven. If you do not see the world from the cross, you cannot see the world properly. Heaven is not a place everyone goes. Only those who know this spirit of sacrifice can go to heaven. In other words, only those who know the blood of Jesus Christ can go to heaven. But to know the blood of Jesus Christ is to know that I lived through the sacrifice of Jesus. And to live that kind of life. To live such a life is to put nothing between heaven and me, between you and me.

Because the sacrifice of Christ is so precious and precious, the Lord is better than the world and the Lord is better than health and money. Heaven is only when people with this kind of heart gather. So, isn't it said that a hut, a palace, or a place where Jesus is enshrined is the kingdom of heaven?

In verse 7, why do we not keep the Passover? Two Passovers were kept in response to the protest. This is it. Israel is where this spirit resides. Church. Why do we not have this spirit?
