Two reports of the spies Numbers 13:25-33 14:6-10
After 40 years of living in the wilderness after the Exodus, they are trying to enter the land of Canaan, a land that God has granted them, but knowing that there are natives living there that cannot easily enter, it is impossible without defeating them, so Moses sent twelve spies. I had them spy out Canaan, but two reports came from the spies who returned from spying. Please think of the text and be of grace together.
1. The report of ten spies out of the twelve (Numbers 13:25-33)
1) Negative and passive reporting (Numbers 13:31-33)
(Numbers 13:31) And those who went up with him said, "We cannot go up against the people, for they are stronger than we are." They were like locusts in Edo, so they must have looked like them.)
Ten out of twelve responded negatively and passively, saying we can't win and we can't.
When we believe in God and go out with a negative or negative faith, we cannot discover God's will and providence. Therefore, the world seems big and God and his authority feel small.
People of negative faith at any time The fact that people of negative faith do not see God, the kingdom of God, and his authority as invisible or small, so they deny God, and the fact that the world's power is greater than God's authority need to know
Do you not think that the pleasures of the world are better than the grace of the Lord? Let's think about whether there is a person whose worldly riches are considered more powerful or honorable than the kingdom of God.
The power of the world seems to be greater than the power of God. Today, the eight spies did not see that God was guarding the back of Israel, so the descendants of the Nephilim of Canaan looked great and felt afraid.
2) Seeing through the eyes of unbelief, God cannot be seen and the world looks more beautiful.
Judas Iscariot also committed the sin of selling Jesus for thirty pieces of silver because he did not see him as the only begotten Son of Christ God.
2. Reports of two spies out of the twelve (Numbers 14:4-10)
(Numbers 14:7-9) Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, The land we went through and searched for is a very beautiful land. *If the LORD is pleased with us, he will bring us into it and give it to us. This is indeed a land flowing with milk and honey. *But do not rebel against the LORD, nor be afraid of the people of the land, for they are our food; their guardian has departed from them, and the LORD is with us. Do not be afraid of them.
1) The two spies made a positive and active report.
① He said that the land they detected was very beautiful.
Seeing it beautifully itself is a positive thing. You don't look beautiful when negative people see you.
② If the Lord is pleased with us, he will bring us into the land and give it to us.)
③ But do not rebel against the Lord, nor be afraid of the people of the land, for they are our bread).
④ Their guardian has departed from them).
⑤ The Lord is with us; do not be afraid of them).
The reason these two were able to report positively and positively was that God did not leave the Canaanites, but he was with Israel. So I told them not to be afraid.
2) Joshua and Caleb were positive and positive people of faith.
You can feel the help of God in the eyes of people of faith. There is nothing that God cannot help with. If God lets you do it, everything will happen. Who can overcome the power of God?
In Joshua and Caleb's eyes, the world seemed small and God's authority was large. So, Canaan was not afraid.
3. Moses, who received the report of the spies, valued the report of two Salam more than the report of the eight.
Everyone, we need to know that God is pleased when we follow the positive and positive words of one person rather than the negative and negative words of a hundred people.
We should not think or say that we can't do it at any time, and we should serve the Church of God with a positive and active faith at any time.
We know that God uses one positive and one positive person rather than a hundred negative and negative people.
