Title: Two Waters
Contents
The interesting thing about the biblical language that there are two (dual) water is the Hebrew word for water, which means mem and mime, which has two words.
By developing these two waters into the meaning of two times of water, I named the dynamic driving force of water as the rhythm of two times. The study of the dynamic rhythm of two cycles of water has primary value because it was not applied to the critical method of Northrop Frye (1912-1991).
Fry divided the meaning of the metaphor into “likes and dislikes” and called the charm of poetry a metaphor.
Water is limited to the material world and is said to be an imitation between the entire natural order and the corresponding human language order. Fry presented the orderly rhythm of the cycle and evaluated the Bible from Genesis to Revelation as a divine comedy with a U-shaped structure. This U-shaped macroscopic scheme of Frye is ① the Fall of Man ? Expulsion from the Garden of Eden? The blessing of Abraham and the beginning of the nation of Israel, ② slavery in Egypt ? Exodus and Settlement of Canaan, ③ Invasion of Babylon and Aliens ? The revival of David and Solomon's kingdom, ④ Babylonian exile ? Reconstruction of the Temple in Jerusalem under Cyrus, ⑤ the barbaric persecution of the Seleucids ?The Maccabee revolution, ⑥ the oppression of Rome ? It is the U-rhythm of Jesus Christ's earthly ministry, ascension and resurrection.
In "Anatomy of Criticism", Fry places importance on the material cause that is motivated by social and cultural phenomena, and considers the environment and natural order as the basis for the creation of myths. It is also called archetypal criticism because it tried to return to the archetype of myth. This method of criticism is a method of criticism that goes from the inside out and returns to the conclusions obtained from the perspective of pluralism. While accepting this theory, his love through the dynamic rhythm of water, focusing on the Old Testament language, was classified into three categories: transcendence, reality, and recovery, centering on dual mime.
Fry's application of myth criticism is the language of water in the material world, and unlike Fry's lack of focus on water, it is characterized by a U-form discussion centered on water.
This myth criticism method adopts the circular form of nature-myth.
① Dawn, Spring, Birth Stages - Myths of the hero's birth, the myth of resurrection and rebirth, the myth of creation, the myth of the defeat of the forces of darkness, winter and death
③ Sunset, Autumn, Stages of Death - Autumn, a myth about the death of a god, the sudden death of a hero, sacrifice, and isolation of the hero. Secondary figures include rebels and seducers. The archetype of tragedy and elegy.
④ Darkness, winter, dissolution stages- The myth of the great flood and chaos, the myth of the defeat of the hero, the myth of the fall of the so-called deity, the prototype of satire.
Fry's method of critique of myth is based on the principle of recirculating from birth, marriage, parting, and death as a cycle of dawn, noon, sunset, night and year as a cycle of one day, spring, summer, autumn, winter, and life as a cycle of life. Fry is pluralist, but in his beliefs, he pursues a circular O form. 「Anatomy of Criticism」is a schematic theory based on the scientific nature of historical criticism, ethical criticism, archetypal criticism, and rhetorical criticism, and it is an order of circulation. Modal theory is a tragic, comical, and thematic modal theory, and ethical criticism raises the importance of language as a symbolic theory. Symbols, signs, and images of literal aspects and motifs, as symbols and myths, are circular symbols. This study is close to the apocalyptic, demonic, and analogical image suggested by Fry's image symbol, but its distinctiveness is transcendence, reality, and recovery.
Fry saw this world as an apocalyptic world and a demonic world. And the analogical image, which is less extreme, is an image of the analogy of innocence, the analogy of natural and logical, and the analogy of experience, and the common world of the divine, human, animal, plant, and material world. that there is Fry's apocalyptic image is God, Spirit, and Trinity in the new world, Jesus in the human world, sheep and doves in the animal world, the cross and the tree of life in the vegetable world, and the material world. ), heaven, paradise, and the water of life are representative examples. Demonic images most undesirable as a subimitation include evil spirits in the divine world, demons in the human world, monsters in the animal world, evil forests in the plant world, and magical gardens and deserts in the physical world. The image of pure innocence, which is a high-level imitation, is virgins, angels and babies in the human world, kings, queens, husband and wife, etc. , roses in the botanical world, and blackboards in the material world.
In this study, while based on the image of Fry, it was characterized only by the transcendence, reality, and recovery of water related to Yahweh in the Old Testament. This method is in the nature of the metaphor of water and in its symbolism. The symbols are classified into seven, meaning the diversity of research. Among the seven varieties, the rhythm was mainly chosen. In particular, as a Christian symbol, he was interested in the 'Rhythm of Rising' in the second and enjoyed the language of "Rhythm of Two Times" . David H. Aaron referred to the symbol of the “rising” language as Bar Aaron Berith-Jehovah/Ark of the Covenant, Num. 14:39-45. The people of Israel were able to stand up because of the covenant. I made this importance with two rhythms.
It is related to the two meanings of water in the Bible, and water is related to Jesus.
That is, water has an allusion to him and is second.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for allowing us to pray.
The Bible gives thanks for having two waters.
It is the fact that you have made the process of allowing our own unclean water to become clean.
Thank you.
Thank you Lord for guiding me so that the flow of water is always clean.
I pray that you will become clean water and be able to purify others so that you can take charge of the work of water.
benediction
