unforgettable person
Lent is 40 days before Jesus' resurrection.
It is a period of fasting and reverently looking to the suffering Lord.
Today's text
Until Matthew 26:6-13, Jesus came to the house of Simon the leper in Bethany.
It's time to stay for a while.
A woman poured precious perfume on Jesus' head while he was eating.
The disciples, looking at him pouring oil on Jesus' head, criticize the woman.
Why are you wasting such a precious thing so much?
** Jesus' view of the disciples **
1> I thought I was wasting something precious.
The nard perfume was given as a gift to the king.
It is a very valuable perfume that is applied to the body when a very precious person dies.
The price of this perfume was about 300 denarii.
Since 1 denarius is a daily wage, it is a year's worth.
I thought I was throwing away a valuable 300 hundred denarii.
2> They tell them to sell without giving and give to the poor.
Not for the poor, but for human greed.
3> Most importantly, I did not know who Jesus was.
Jesus' view of the woman offering the perfume
1> Do not trouble this woman; she has done a good thing for me.
Even those who live by faith face tribulation and persecution.
2> There is also an opportunity to offer perfume to the Lord.
The Lord says
The poor are always with you, but I am not always with you.
3> This woman poured perfume on me for my funeral.
Because it seems that Mary will not have a chance to anoint with oil today or not.
He anointed Jesus while he was eating.
Lessons from Mary
1) Be a spiritual person.
= You have eyes that see things that others do not.
A woman preparing to die.
2) The blessing that Mary received.
= Wherever the gospel is witnessed, I want to see what this woman has done.
There are many unforgettable people.
