Title: Vashti deposed (1:19-22)
The dethroned Vashti (1:19-22)
Vashti's protest led to a super-strong measure of dethroning her. This measure was made at the suggestion of the wise men of Vasa, and in the end, the king also agreed to this, and the queen was dethroned in the name of good order in the family in the empire.
It was suggested that the king's princes, who said "no translation," record the consequences of Vashti's disobedience to the king's name and make it a law so that the decision cannot be minimized.
1. Recommendation for the dethronment of the doctors (verse 19)
It is very difficult to dethrone the queen of a country. The queen also has the authority of the country.
However, the doctors issued a decree and suggested that the king be deposed so that he would never appear before the king again.
Vashti's refusal is justified. Because the queen was regarded as a plaything in front of people, he criticized only the queen's disobedience rather than the king's unjust orders.
(Romans 12:2) “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, which is good and acceptable and perfect.”
(Esther 8:8) “You shall write a decree to the Jews in the name of the king as you will, and seal it with the king’s ring; for a decree written in the king’s name and sealed with the king’s ring cannot be undone.”
2. Vashti deposed (vv. 20-21)
The wise men suggest the king to make a decree for the dethronment of Queen Vashti
‘Prospectus’ literally means ‘the order of the kingdom’, and it is a public order, not a personal order of the king. = It is written in the law to prevent it from being changed.
The king accepted Memugan's suggestion as he liked it.
(Colossians 3:18) “Wives, submit to your husbands, as it is in the Lord.”
(Genesis 41:37) “Pharaoh and all his servants regarded the matter well.”
(Matthew 7:7,8) “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you; for everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”
3. Correcting family order (verse 22)
The king's decree concludes with what is called domestic order.
(Genesis 3:16) “And he said to the woman, “I will greatly increase the pains of childbearing, and you will labor and bear children, and you will long for your husband, and he will rule over you.”
The Creation Principle tried to establish order in the family by ordering men to rule over women.
The king's punishment has a sense of retaliation, but it should be given out of love rather than wrath.
