Title: Victory at work (Ephesians 6:5-9)

Contents

Servants, submit yourselves to the masters of the flesh with fear and trembling and sincerity as you submit to Christ. Don't do it blindly, like those who please men, but do God's will with all your heart, like the servants of Christ. Serve with joy, as to the Lord and not to men. Know that everyone who does good, whether slave or free, will receive a reward from the Lord.

Masters, treat your servants like this, and do not threaten them. Know that their Lord and your Lord are in heaven, and that the Lord does not discriminate against people (Ephesians 6:5-9)

A lot of words came from here and there. The professor replied that it was not position, not ability, not authority, It is relationship.

Today's markets are a battlefield without gunfire. The business scene is increasingly bloody. In a workplace, sales are your personality. The workplace and the market are performance-oriented. In such a battlefield, if I made a mistake, I will throw it away like a loser Going abroad to study, taking a break, or changing jobs is not the only answer. The Hebrew writer said, “Even from this bloody battlefield, he did not retreat, but said, “My righteous one will live by faith; and if he retreats, my heart has no pleasure in him.” We are not the ones who turn back and fall into destruction, but only to save souls. those who have faith to come” (Hebrews 10:38,39).

Ephesians is a spiritual warfare manual. In a world full of demons trying to devour us, we introduce the rules of victory how God's people can win and live without losing their identity as saints. When a person becomes a citizen of the kingdom of God through Christ, all areas of his life must be changed to the values of life that the kingdom of God demands. Now they are children of the king and children of light. So, Paul talks about Christian identity in the first half and then deals with the practical part from Chapter 4. And they turn their eyes to the workplace where fierce spiritual battles are taking place today. Paul gives us a way to win in our workplace.

First, “Be loyal to those below you as you are to the Lord.”

One of the things the unbelieving world attacks against Christians is authenticity. Why are words and actions different? Ex) The Story of the Movie Church

Let's ask a question. “Are you loyal to your boss at work?”

Paul says, “If you are a true Christian, be joyfully loyal to your boss as you are to the Lord.”

Paul said, “Slaves.” All employees and employees! It seems like it should fit.

In verses 5 and 6, it says, “Servants, obey your masters in the flesh with fear and trembling and with sincerity in your heart, as to Christ, not as pleasers of men, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God in your heart.” The workplace is physiological, so you cannot help but be conscious of your superiors.

Paul says, in order to impress your superiors, you don't actually do it, and don't deceive your boss by pretending to be good, but obey him as you would the Lord.

Verse 7 says, “Serve with all heart, as to the Lord, not to men” (verse 7). Here, ‘dan’ is “wholeheartedly” in the NIV translation.

If you do that, God promises to give you the final bonus. Finally, God promises to give you a performance pay.

Second, do not treat subordinates harshly and respect them!

“Masters, you do the same to them,” he said.

In today's language, we say, "Employers, treat your subordinates as you would the Lord."

And he said, "Stop blackmailing." It means "don't threaten". Why?

“Because you know that we and your master are in heaven, and that there is no respect for him according to his outward appearance.”

Because their ultimate master is in heaven, and he does not discriminate against people.

But the reality is not. It is not uncommon for a boss to ignore his subordinates, insult them personally, and treat them badly. However, the problem is that people who believe in Jesus are told that they are increasing.

I had a conversation with a certain employee. He went to China a few years ago in a Chinese city after being scouted by a company run by a Korean elder. However, the president entrusted all the work to the manager, and product development was in the background, and he was only diligent in serving the Korean church. The problem was that the boss did not pay the Chinese employees as well as the Korean employees on time. Then one day, the president told the manager to make a donation to the missionary when a missionary was coming from Korea. My salary was delayed, but I asked him to donate, so what would Manager Lee think of the president? Manager Lee left the company and eventually closed the company.

The true faith of deacons and elders is revealed only when they visit the company and work, not the church.

It is clear that work is the channel of evangelism and missions. But if it doesn't work, they say, "You're good." It doesn't work at all. The positions and positions given to us are tools to serve people.

conclusion

Are you someone's subordinate? Be loyal. Even if it doesn't fit, match it. Just avoid sinning. Are you someone's superior? Please respect the people below you personally. Then he will be loyal to you

Many workers are heartbroken. They need Christ. You can caress them. And go further to the next level. Change your workplace and run for the win. Ed Silvoso divided the Christians working in the workplace into four categories.

First, Christians living for survival.

Second, Christians who follow the principles of Christianity

Third, Christians who live by the power of the Holy Spirit

Fourth, Christians who change the workplace

Ed Silvoso said: “The heart of the city is not the church. The chapel building is even worse not. The church is the beacon of the city, but the heart of the city is the workplace. In order to achieve urban evangelization, corporate evangelization must come first.”

Go out aggressively, do not evade, “Go and make disciple of all nations, Go and make disciple of marketplaces, all workers.

Don't just go out of the world, march to work. The Lord bore the cross for them as well. You are about to leave your job.

The Lord appears before you. The Lord goes to the job you leave you ask “Lord, where are you going?”

The Lord says “I go to the job where the person you gave up is”
